L’ironman de la LNH Phil Kessel a été le #81 dans 4 équipes différentes. lorsqu’il prendra sa retraite, quelle organisation devrait retirer son numéro, le cas échéant ?

I don’t see any of them retiring his number tbh

  2. ren21815

He obviously had the most success in the burg but I don’t see them retiring his number.

Nope. In order for a team to retire your jersey number, you should have done something significant for that organization. He hasn’t done anything worthy of having his number retired.

Unretire 99 and hang up 81 across the league

  5. DontTellMom420

His Coney Island jersey maybe 🌭

  6. LimitsToCapital

No one is retiring his number.

  7. SuperAwesome13

none of them will retire his number

  8. Wild-Masterpiece-630

    League, 81 no longer available

  9. robshot295

Closest team I could see doing is is Pittsburgh, since he has a big hand in those championships. But it’s very slim it happens

His jersey is going to be raised to the rafters of several hot dog joints.

Retiring his number? Are you serious right now?

    I mean… Ottawa is retiring Chris Neil’s #25 lol

The hot dog vendor outside each arena he’s played in.

  14. ChuckWallace987

Probably none. But he’ll probably end up in Pittsburg’s Ring of Honor as it doesn’t seem too exclusive.

  15. BaephBush

None. He’s a strict one-dimensional player who is uncoachable, which is why the Bruins traded him and he’s been on 5 teams.

  16. choochfanook

no one will do this and you know that

  17. bonnydelrico

Nobody will but it’ll be retired in my heart 🖤💛🤍8️⃣1️⃣

  18. Laser-Nipples

Honestly, just hang a hot dog from the rafters and call it good.

  19. KrebsCollector

I doubt any will but if one was going to it would be the Pens

  20. StyxQuabar

As some have said, none will probably retire his number, though if he had played his whole career somewhere there would be no doubt.

  21. Illustrious-Bike-187

The NHL should retire his number, and selling double cheeseburgers in every areas league wide.

  22. whiskeyondarocks

He’s spent 3-5 seasons with the first 3. No possible jersey retirement in that scenario

  23. AeroBlack33

None. If he had stayed in one place for most of his career maybe. But that is not the case.

  24. Frankieseas

    2 cups in Pittsburgh that’s a argument

  25. Several_March_1588

None but ill always remember him as a leaf

  26. AZnpersuasion420

Every hotdog vendor will honor him by having 81 cent dogs

  27. If he started his career in Toronto and then went to Pittsburgh after I think you have a fair argument for Kessel being honoured in Toronto but 6 seasons of good individual production on very mediocre teams really doesn’t qualify as getting honoured. The three seasons in Boston kind of take Toronto off the table.

Phil’s peak (first two years especially) in Pittsburgh is great but he was only there for four years. Not long enough for a jersey retirement.

  28. bamzander

he’s not a great player, hes good, but he’s not worth retiring his number. he never significantly changed a team or a sport imo.

  29. grandBBQninja

Should be all of them but will be none of them. Phil *is* a god but he’s simply not a ”retire his number”-type of player.

  30. I forgot he was still playing. Nobody is retiring his number…

  31. TreatAdorable2051

Rumor has it, he eats 81 hot dogs and practices 81 slapshots before every game

  32. Chuck1983

Krazy Dog hotdogs will retire his number.

  33. Saukratees

None but Pittsburgh seems the most memorable
