Conor for oilers Connor
I really don't want Garland traded especially in the same division
Puljuharvi is linked to devils
When you're not a contender, you don't just dismiss a trade offer involving one of your players who is 25 and older necessarily. It all depends on what the offer is. If the Oilers want to give us something ridiculous like Bouchard and a 1st while taking Dickinson or Poolman off our hands, absolutely you do your due diligence and look at it. No one player is bigger than the team and if someone isn't going to be part of a potential Cup run in 3-4 years, they're expendable. You have to decide as a GM who your core guys are. I contend that our core is made up of Elias, Bo, Quinn and Thatcher. You could probably add Podkolzin and Boeser to that mix, but after that, everyone else expendable for the right price. But I repeat, for the right price. Right now, Miller could fetch a big haul and if Garland does too, great. But the point is, these players are assets. You do what's right for the team, in the end. Treating these guys like they're our boyfriends isn't helpful. But that's the kind of mentality that has led us to half a century without a Stanley Cup. I've been a fan since 1990, so for me, playtime is over. I don't care who gets moved. Just win. No more excuses.
Domino effect from the idiotic move of letting Toffoli walk
Maybe get a goalie first Edmonton
Barrie and Jesse for Garland
Edmonton needs to get a goalie.
Jesse and 29th for garland(retaining some cap) and a 3rd?(maybe a 2nd)? From an oilers perspective i wouldnt make the trade unless some or half his cap is retained
Why trade him? Unless he isn't happy
5:35pm Still no trade
Dont want to see Garland traded but I'd love to see Canucks put together a package to pull Fabian Lysell out of Boston. For Miller we need to get a top 4 Dman.
Unrelated but I hope Brandon Sutter comes back next season
For a guy who didn’t get any PP time his production was fantastic. It would be a mistake to trade him, his contract is too good.
There is no reason to trade Garland unless you are a moron. Good player on a good contract and hard to play against. As far as i am concerned this is intelligent test, you trade you are a moron, unless they get a boat load in return which isn't going to happen. Lots of other players to get cap room from, and frankly i haven't seen this management team make a mistake yet so i really don't know where these rumors are coming from. Sure it's a good idea to assess what value a player has when you are first coming in but they have done that already. MIlsy is the same kind of guy but his contract is expiring and it looks like he wants too much to sign, so it makes sense to move him. Motte was a big loss cuz he is the same kind of hard to play against energetic player. Highmore same thing. Get him signed for cheap while you can. They trade Garland i may have to defect, lol.
We need a top right handed defenseman. Lots of smallish picks. We do not need anymore small guys. Nobody has ever won with a small team unless you go back to the early 19th century. Daigle showed you can still be fast and full of skill yet still be a flop. One of the best young guys to kamikaze the dirt. Just a massive face plant. Well this doesn't count, because Vancouver just has a history of bad picks. I am all over the place because there is new management and really do not have an idea of their intensions. Some things are obvious and others you just do not know where they are going. Pretty sure we will have OEL till he retires. A odd sort of rebuild. Do not see us winning a cup soon and think we will get a right handed D man. Three years I still do not see even second round in sight. Bad contracts have us ham strung. Unless the organization can pull off a couple miracles. Still see us competitive.
I see many stating Edmonton needs a goalie but they were embarrassing defensively and shot totals against in the playoffs were shockingly bad, they need a better coaching staff to implement a better defensive system and there leaders to by in. And yes I agree McDavid is without a doubt the best player in existence but as a team they are horrific defensively.
another clickbait video suprise suprise
Barrie for garland?
To VAN: Puljujarvi, Barrie
To EDM: Garland, Poolman
we need to keep conor garland contract is good , he is young. could improve
I've got to say that I'm going to be thoroughly bummed if after 6 months of intense speculation JTM ends up staying in Vancouver. I love the player, but we've been conditioned to believe we can ship out quality for youth, speed and assets. Our hopes have never been higher. Don't let us down, Allvin. We need something big and good to happen.
Also I have very harsh memories of peter shipping around prospects so you guys are having none of our prospects
… Garland for Puljujarvi would make me lose all hope for this new Canucks regime instantly. But of course there is zero chance of that happening anyways.
Country club
It feels like trading garland would be a mistake unless we get a massive return
No thank you. Too expensive and inconsistent. We have plenty of talent. JP hopefully goes though.
Garland is a player you keep
Only Vancouver Canucks would want to trade him
Apparently, according to Jeff Marek, the canucks could be ready to accept an offer from NYR which could include Kaapo Kakko
I'd say just another rumor of the day here .
2 days later.. still nothing happened
If Conor Garland could get at least 69 points in a season, that would be nice.
Make it all up Lego, fake news.
