It’s both wonderful and frustrating to watch our offense put up 3+ a night. The big guns have so much potential and they’re fun to watch since they are so dangers.
But the lack of depth scoring is troubling. Hopefully some of the younger guys take big leaps forward over the course of this year and into next.
And obviously the defensive lapses make me want to strangle them all. I know I need to be more patient, but it’s getting difficult. They have been defensively irresponsible since last season, and it just doesn’t seem to be any better. We really need to find a way to lock it down in our own end. If we even had NHL-average level defense and PK, we would probably be a top 5 team right now, standings-wise. The fact that we somehow just can’t seem to make that work kills me.
Maybe Adams and Donny are letting the D get smoked to show Johnson there’s room for him?
