Podz it's a wise choice, he's only gonna better for us, just wait.
Podkolzin wasn’t the “desperate” pick. He was ranked higher than 10. But he had committed to the KHL for 2 years, so he fell to 10. I understand that you struggle to create new content that is relevant. When you accuse this pick of being made in desperation, you are projecting your own insecurity.
Horvat , Miller and Boudreau have all said they are really impressed with podkolson his work ethic and skills .
Miller said he will be better than Pettersson?
The WORST opinion I've heard about 2019 so far. And I'm a fan of your "show"
Simple answer.
Yes. He's good.
When you draft a player, you are not really looking for his contribution in the short-term. I think saying that Podkolzin didn't help immediately to "prove" that he was the wrong pick was quite a reach. If he grows into a top six forward who can score 25 – 30 goals a season for the Canucks and can work both ends of the rink, he is definitely a more complete player than those drafter immediately after him.
Podkolzin is a difference maker, like Bo and Miller, his game will improve year over year. (Looking back at those guys' rookie seasons there are some comparisons) With his work ethic, skating, hard shot, and his hockey sense are as good as any of the prospects he is being compared to. His opportunity, Ice time, and the culture shock of coming from Russia, learning the language, customs and the type of hockey the NHL plays. That is a lot to take in. But now with a couple of "new" guys on the team that he can help with the transition that will help him be more comfortable. He is a good character guy on a team that has a locker room full of character guys. I'm excited to see them get back at it. Go Canucks!!!
To me this kid had best chemistry with Miller out of any Canuck player last year and only played with him near the end of the season. Budreau absolutely loves him because of his versatile gritty two way game. He may not be the most offensive player out of the guys left on the board but he is what the canucks needed the most out of that bunch. I see him as a winger version Bo Horvat and who knows how many points he can rack up if he plays with Miller for an entire season.
I would take Boldy but not Caufield. But I like the way Podkolzin plays and he will get better.
Podkolzin is a fan favourite amongst Canucks fans. He’s just a guy with insane work ethic, and has every tool to become a top 6 forward in the NHL. Sky is the limit for this kid, and he’s only going to get better.
I like the intake, but at the same time we have too many players that can provide good skill, which is good, but are little in size. We don’t have much players that are big and involve grit to the team, in which will cause difficulty to the opposing team. Yes they may be players higher in skill compared to Podz, no denying that. But also, can’t ignore the fact we need more players that can provide the sand paper we lack in, which Podz executes in and also the upside skill he can excel in.
Pods was and is on his way being a top 6 forward. His delayed start was his KHL contract & getting used to NHL play. Caufields size was and still is against him, he doesn't play well against big teams. Boldy is ok but Pods has a huge shot we havn't really seen yet and his speed, power forward moves and strength are just coming into form. This guy will be a beast!!!
I can’t wait to see him develop.
All I really got from this is that, that was a really good draft class. Lots of talented players.
Lots of Canuck fan bias in the comments here. You can say he fits the team better, which may be true and that’s fine, but in no way is he better than two proven top six forwards one of which has elite upside.
Slava podkolzin
1:07 – 1:09 me when I wake up
Idc what anyone says, there’s like 20 better players in this draft. This guy is bust at 10.
Love the pick, and now that Miller is staying I believe we'll see him achieve his potential in time. Miller's playing style would suite Podz perfectly and we know he'll be mentoring him for yrs now. That's the one aspect of the signing I havnt heard people talk about. As Miller eventually starts to decline, Podz should be hitting his stride and replacing what we may or may not be loosing in Miller. Exciting honestly
Why would you make this video one year into his career? It’s a pointless conversation and video. He looked great last year and could easily become a top 5 player from that draft
Lego, lets put some good vibe videos out my man, close to the season build the boys up. podz is getting better hard not knowing a language to start.
Also, players from other countries coming to north america sometimes take longer look at danny and hank to of our favs but check out here first 2 years stats and how we felt about them. Pretty sure we considered trading them
im taking pod over all your choices we need a guy like him.
I guess we will all have to wait 5 years before we have the answer of his full potential.
This youtuber is a raceist to russian hockey players
Stop being raceist
Canucks don't need Caufield.
Boldy and Podz is gonna be a wash in a year or two.
Newhook may be a one that got away though.
Benning haters are so predictable…
Points arent everything, Podz is more versatile than the players drafted before and after him. He has a defensive and physical side to his game the others just dont have. He also puts 110% on every shift and you cant teach effort
