@Blue Jackets de Columbus

  1. if Elvis catches fire he could steal 3 games in a row

harder to do that with home and away games, but 3 bubble games? 🥵

  2. My prediction: Toronto will beat every team that stand between them and a loss against the Bruins.

  3. Everyone talks about the stout defense of CBJ, but the offense is totally flying under the radar: Bjorkstrand is back, Texier is back, Foudy will make appearances, Bemstrom got massively better as the year went on, and of course you've got Dubois, Atkinson, and Jones/Werenski obviously. If Josh Anderson somehow finds a way back from his injury in time for this series, look out.

  4. I respect Columbus, but why is everyone handicapping the Leafs in this series ? The Leafs are the favourite don’t kid yourself

  5. Pretty sure they had Bobrovsky and Panarin when they beat Tampa. That makes a huge difference I didn't hear you guys talk about one time.

  6. They’re calling this a playoff round but it’s not even the playoffs right?

  7. As long as they don't put a Zamboni driver in net we should have a chance!! Lol jk .

  8. Bluejackets in 4 …. everyone knows leafs can’t get out of the first round. Freddy will be shaky as usual , defence will be garbage as usual ,coaching will be sub par .They are built for regular season , not for when it matters ,they don’t play the way playoff hockey needs to be played , they lack the balls to play with heart.

  9. CBJ lost Panarin, Bobrovsky, Duchene and Dzingle. Not the same team from last year. The question is: How are the 2 unexperienced goalies going to perform? How is the 27th ranked team in scoring going to outscore #2 team in scoring?

  10. Most over look at Leafs this with addition to the team like better coach Keefe, and Soupie, Spezza, Engvall, Nylander in full fletch, Clifford, healthy Muzzin, healthy Rielly.
CBJ gone are some shooting power like Panarin, Duchene, Dzingle.

  11. If Freddys consistent out of the gate the leafs have no excuse to lose

  12. A few things I really disagree with here.
Firstly, time off should benefit a team that leans on skill and natural hockey sense rather than a team that's based on structure and defense. Typically, it takes longer to establish a rhythm defensively rather than offensively. That goes directly against the first point made in this video.
Secondly, this is not the same Columbus that beat Tampa Bay a year ago. Using the "Hey, they beat a better team in Tampa in 4 games last year!" just doesn't make much sense. They lost a player who was top three in the league this year, as well as their starting goaltender, and that changes everything.

I'm not saying it's an easy round or even that Toronto should win, but these points just don't make much sense coming from analysts.

  13. The minute Andersen struggles Keefe better throw in Campbell. I think that kid might shine if given the chance. Just go with the hot Goalie.

  14. Blue jackets aren't a threat. They're not the same team that took down Tampa. Stop that stupid storyline. Toronto will take this series and it's not close

  15. Columbus in 4, because Anderson might steel one, but I doubt it.

  16. I will watch the opening ceremonies. If they or you do any political stunts. Im out.

Sincerely a 40 year leafs fan

  17. I predict Austie will be travelling home to Arizona with his pants down by August 7th

  18. May the Armies of the Leafs defenders assemble. I call upon my fellow guards of the blue and white to do battle with the vile enemy known as Leafs Haters. The battle will be bloody and gruesome l, but we will prevail with the weaponry our team has provided us. My fellow guards of tomorrow, we must defeat our enemies and come together as allies!

  19. this is to make it to the first round, they have to win 7 more games to get by. you talk like this is the start.

  20. Oh boy, if the Leafs go into this series thinking like the fans do (they won't) the franchise will be writing apology tweets by the 6th of August.

They're going up against a team that matched them in points and (despite a ridiculous number of OT points) had a similar record as well. With a team that was half rookies and AHLers to boot. Yeah the media doesn't talk about how the Leafs overcame a lot of injuries too, but have people actually looked at Columbus's injury record. You could take out their most injured guy (Dubinsky, missed 70 games) and they'd still lead the league in man games lost to injury.

The worst though is the "they lost Panarin, Duchene, Dzingel, and Bobrovsky, so this will be easy." I'll get back to Panarin, Bobrovsky, and Duchene and instead start with Dzingel. Dzingel did nothing for Columbus, that's why their trade for him sucked so bad. He had 0pts against Lightning, he had less offensive output than Scott Harrington in that series.

Bobrovsky, he had the same albatross around his neck going into that series that Andersen has now. Outside of the Lightning series, Bobrovsky averaged a 3.41 GAA and an .897 sv%, yet Columbus still won 7 games in spite of those numbers, often with even less talented squads. Now neither of their current goalies have NHL playoff experience, but neither did Binnington.

As for Duchene and Panarin, well unfortunately in terms of impact, most of their points last year didn't matter (especially against the Lightning). Panarin had the primary assists on Seth Jones's GWG in Game 1 and Duchene had the primary assist on Zach Werenski's GWG in Game 2. That was it. Those two points were the major contributions of Panarin and Duchene in sweeping the Lightning. Literally just two assists. Most everything else was padding the score.
Columbus had 13 other players hit the score sheet in that series, and the only major one they'll (likely) be missing against the Leafs is Josh Anderson.

If the Leafs go into this thinking "it's not the same team that swept the Lightning" they could very well be punted from the bubble they're supposed to be hosting. And they will deserve every criticism.

  21. Watch the Leafs win the cup this year…it would be fitting actually cuz they wouldn't be able to have a parade lol

  22. no fans? I think they should blast crowd sounds in the arena. record passt playoff arena noises and blast it in the arena….

  23. Certainly would be like the Maple Leafs to be eliminated in a playoff solely based in Toronto..

  24. Nothing against the Leafs, but if they don't win the series against the Jackets, changes might come soon. A lot of talent, but they can't seem to get it together.
