The Santa Claus Parade starts at 3 p.m., running westbound on Portage Avenue from Main Street to Memorial Boulevard, then southbound on Memorial Boulevard to York Avenue – see route map.
As part of the event, numerous road closures will be in effect throughout the day:
Portage Avenue (Memorial Boulevard to Main Street) – eastbound closed from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.; westbound closed from noon until 5 p.m.
Main Street (St. Mary Avenue to Portage Avenue) – northbound open except for brief shutdowns to move floats across; southbound open
Osborne Street (Broadway Avenue to St. Mary Avenue) – northbound closed during the parade (3-4 p.m.); southbound open
Pedestrians will not be allowed to cross Portage Avenue during the closure. If you park north of Portage Avenue, you will need to access the skywalk system from Portage Place in order to cross Portage and access the venue.
Access to key parkades south of Portage and in proximity to Canada Life Centre will not be disrupted. It is anticipated that street parking will be at a minimum.
All streets will be fully reopened in time for the end of the Jets game, and traffic will return to normal for your route home.
