Can he go write for LA then? Even Toronto. I have no idea how he gets so much airtime. After Wyatt left, I dropped the Athletic so fast.

Well the season isn't over. L A is 10 points up Vancouver has two games in hand. They are finally not playing every other Night. It's time for Vancouver to start playing hockey. Because L A isn't finished rebuilding.
i think Drance is CORRECT and also great just wish the owner/mgt would actually be serious at what needs to happen to fix this mess….they will never show the actual patience to to the hard things for more than 3 years befor going back all in….farm system is EMPTY and untill you start dealing with that and using good drafting as help for your team…

RAAAR RRARARARR RRAAAARRRRR … Utter rage porn crap… The Canucks media don't half make the feckin state of things worse, not bad enough were an actual shambles with no hope in sight – they have to make it worse by misrepresenting facts !! While the Kings have done a good job on their Retool – It would be a lot fairer to compare the LA team to one with a 33 year old Sedins, Luongo, Edler, Tanev – which is the reality of the comparisons,. A similar team which made the playoffs with Bo in the team back in 2015. As Anaheim have found out this year once those lynchpins finally go – they will come back down hard.
KIngs had a couple of major free-agent signings in the past few years in Fiala and Danault. Arvidsson's trade was not too shabby adding 3 top 6 guys into the hockey club. The GM in LA had done a tremendous job in their additions. That is why they made the playoffs last year and will compete well for a playoff spot this year in the Pacific Division. Vilardi's emergence has definitely given the Kings' a chance to get another kick of the can.
Vancouver was once a goalie grave yard and now it is turning into a coach's grave yard. I still think Green is problematic as a coach, but Bruce definitely is a good coach and he deserves better than being treated this like. With this mess that the Canucks are right now, I don't think even Pat Quinn or Scotty Bowman can turn things around (I guess both would be considered by Rutherford and Allvin as incompetent because they wouldn't use analytics)
Drance is apparently either delusional or living in a complete alternate reality where the Kings did a rebuild so that they could have very little talent outside of their captain, goaltender and top defenceman who are all over 30. The Kings did exactly what Drance claims is the wrong move, they rebuilt on the fly and kept a bunch of key core contributors. They absolutely did not tear it down and go for a rebuild like Drance is completely incorrect in claiming.
Yes we are steamed. It's ownership's fault!! what are we supposed to do about it? We display our displeasure every fucking day. What are you guys doing to call out ownership??? Again Bruce isn’t coaching this team it is the President and GM. The only reason you don’t see them behind the bench is because they couldn’t run a practice on ice because they don’t want to put skates on and do the work. The biggest mistake was back in the day of Trevor Linden as the President was let go because ownership didn’t like what he was saying to build a good team and went with big spender Jimmy. I think the players are mad because they still haven’t signed Horvat but did find money to sign JT. Now I don’t think the players are mad with JT and I love JT but by the new management not signing Bo gives the message of no loyalty. The biggest message players are hearing without the spoken word is we are management and we are going to do whatever we want!!!!!
Drance is hard to listen to. He makes the game of hockey sound like the most uninteresting game in the world.

Can't argue with any of his points here unless you are either an emotionally attached Canucks mark, and/or know nothing about NHL hockey, and/or are under the influence of very strong hallucinogenic drugs.
The Canucks are going nowhere until they commit 100% to a proper long term rebuild from top to bottom.
