  1. That was some excellent Fog, again. Skinner excellent. McD Dria and Hyman were all awesome. McD always shows up large for games Vs Jack E is in. They decided to try to show up in the first minute and they seems to have helped somehow. Kens got to make a deal or 2 here though before long though.

  2. The thing that bothers me is, if McDavid and Drai really, really wanted to, they could score more first goals of a hockey game than pretty much anyone — especially McDavid. If he comes out to start every hockey game similar to how he played in the playoffs, he would probably lead the league in first goals in a game. Yet I feel they vastly under-perform. I wish a reporter would ask them about this.

  3. Tonight they came with alert, intensity…..a plan, a focus. ~~kept the game in front of them for the most part…with a letdown in the 2nd period….but more of a cohesive unit. The Oilers do not always look cohesive and alert ~ it's really not a complete team thus far. Getting outshot again by more than 10 shots is a problem 34 -23…. at home they get out shot consistently… they are a better road team….. NJD on Monday are going be an interesting watch….THAT IS FOR SURE. Oilers are not a complete team about to play what appears to be the top team or two in the NHL. Only as good as your weak links and the Oilers have too many weak ones.

  4. David BANG ON. Leadership on this team is unreal but one glaring weakness in their armor is their unwillingness to follow the Coaches Plan from the start. Todd M, Tipp and JW have given these players the magic sause and when they decide to use it they are fairly unbeatable. However, they do not always want to stick with it and as you pointed out its not the offensive starts its their attention to defensive details at the start of the games. This team has shown they can do it but not consistently. When they do it all 4 lines role when they don't the bench is shortened at the 5 min mark of the first period. Remember what Ryan said when JW took over about being part of the game now. Well that was not Tipps fault that was the leadership deciding they knew better how to play the game, hence the bench shortens and it is rinse and repeat with this team.

  5. And you know people were ready to trade off Nuge and Foegle, which I thought would be foolish. Remember, his first game as an Oiler, he scored 3 goals (Nuge).

  6. That was a well deserved goal by McDavid. The number of chances he had, that were thwarted, was a lot

  7. "We're closing in in on 2 a.m. Edmonton time and we should let you (Bruce) get back to work" – lots of funny moments in this episode 🙂

  8. Draisaitl, although he made some mistakes, again proved that McDavid is not the only generational talent on this team. McDavid's OT goal was spectacular – Hill looked like a statue on the play. … The question remains: Why don't the Oilers start all of their games like this? (Except for one glaring defensive mistake) … Bouchard is going to start costing the Oilers games if he continues to play the way that he has – almost no offense and some brutal defensive play. Was nice not to see Nurse doing synchronized swimming on the ice. … The New York State trip will show whether this team has found consistency.

  9. We are so fortunate that Skinner has been so dialled in! Holloway definitely needs some time with the Condors, Poo has zero confidence with the puck on his stick, and Kostin has thrown at least one big hit each game.

  10. Guys guys, for people that make an entire podcast about hockey you gotta know the hockey lingo. Assist: apple Gino: goal. Do I know why? Absolutely not. Do I care? Absolutely not

  11. With Malone called up, they should send Holloway down to AHL, it is not helping his confidence and development by playing less than 5 mins each game.

  12. Bench Bouchard for a few games….Hes making waaay too many mistakes…He needs to watch some videos of himself, sit in the sky bench and see the action from there….. If hes the future (not my opinion) of our defense as some pundits believe , were in trouble!….I would trade Bouchard and Murray in a heart beat for other defense pieces, preferable two solid stay at home physical Dmen…We only have a 3-4 yr window to win Cup. Cant have Boo and Murray holding back the team!…
