Still baffles me how an expansion team that’s been around for a couple years doesn’t play their 4th overall player.
I'll be surprised if they let him go to the world juniors… And I read Francis didn't want to send Wright to the OHL, because he will developp better with the Kraken, apparently.
They must have a special recipe, because looking at them deal with Wright's case, it feels like all they want to do is destroy, not just break, him, for some reason…

Looks more and more like that missed season,really affected his developpment.Can't be just his attitude at this point.

Attitude doesn't translate to success. Season looks lost.
Do you know where his confidence would come back in the NHL? That place would be MTL. Look at how MTL is playing. It is the exact place you want to play if your confidence is not on point. Can MTL trade for Shane yes MTL can totally do that. However, the problem would be if his attitude is indeed the reason why everything is going badly for Shane. You need to look at it this way. No team will come out and blast a player who was supposed to go first overall for his attitude. I can almost tell you that his attitude is the biggest factor. Why?? Because he is human. When your confidence gets crushed you try to get it back however Shane has not tried even with the limited ice time he got. Go look at the games he played and all his shifts he did not try. I played hockey for a long time and my confidence got crushed many times but I kept playing and trying. I got cut from AAA many times but then I crushed it and got back and tried again and again. He is simply not trying. That means his attitude is the issue and not that he missed some time. Slav missed some time yet he has a great attitude. So….yeah…

I like what St-Louis is doing with the team, but I'm curious; what are his specific steps (or plan) regarding Slav's development.
When will he get more minutes with more talented players?
Recently, he has been playing less than 10 minutes and at the very bottom line. He is at around 0.31 P/GP at the moment, and with still no real chance on the PP even after scoring on his first real one, it's nothing to sneeze at all things considered. But I absolutely do not see him getting more done without better utilization.
So… It's in that context that I would like to ask St-Louis:
– when will the next step be, and what Slav needs to achieve, exactly, to be given that next opportunity?
I REALLY don't think it is the case, BUT, if his plan really is to leave him there and keep using him the same way during pretty much the whole season, then no man; ship him to the AHL instead!
If, on the other hand (and more realistically), St-Louis wants to keep him there until he's done working on something specific (AND that is realistic for him to achieve with its very limited role in the team right now) before getting 2nd/3rd line minutes and PP action, I'm all for it obviously. I'm just wondering; what is the main thing he is asked to work on or expected to achieve… His skating? Better positioning/no puck play? Etc., etc.
Or even, it could be something outside of the ice completely (not impossible, we never know fully what is going on after all, and it's totally normal).
Any comments on this guys? I would be curious to read your opinions! 😀

My opinion based on a bunch of people I’ve seen talking about this, they want him to play against better competition then the OHL but I don’t think he’s ready for the NHL so they’re getting him to play a bunch of ice time in the AHL. Some interesting things about this is that his first eligible game back in the NHL after his 14 day conditioning stint would be against Montreal and then he will probably go to the world juniors.

Averaging 8 mins a game with one assist and one shot on net so far, not looking good for him. Still very early tho
My mans confidence must be completely broken down went from first to 4 then doesn’t get more then 10min of ice time and know he gets sent to ahl for 14 days it’s brutalllllll I hope he goes into the ahl and starts lighting it up I’m a nucks fan and have seeen bad player development time and time again hope they figure this out

Some guys are good but don't know why. That being said when they get in a slump they don't know what's wrong.
Imo there can only be one program running in your brain… It's the programing that doesn't worry or think about anything and is constantly itching to get on the ice.

Just my opinion but I think there is a problem with his work ethic or his personality. Matt Bernier shows he works hard & able to adapt to the NHL level even when being called up for only 10 games last year. Sure his confidence might have taken a hit but I think he probably thinks that everything should be given to him because he was always the best player in every league he played in. Just ky opinion again & I hope he gets another look in the NHL.
