im a flyers fan and remember watching that 7-0 game live and no way condone or agree with what emery did to holtby. yes there was a line brawl, yes tensions were high at least for us but that dosent mean emery should have skated crease to crease to single out holtby who wanted nothing to do with all the fighting. also ovie is my favorite non flyer player. the guy plays with a lot of heart and is breathtaking to watch.

Im a caps fan but this is not that big of a rivalry.
As a Caps fan for nearly two decades, I admit this rivalry had its high points, but at this point, it had cooled significantly as the Flyers are entering a rebuild phase. Personally, I can't say I like the Flyers, but I do respect the ferocity and tenacity of the Flyers team and their fans. I can't say the same for our other rivals, namely the Bruins, Penguins, Rangers and Islanders in that order.

i have just chuckle at all the "caps will never win the cup" comments below me.As a flyers fan i believe we choked at least 5-6 times in my lifetime most in the 90s when we had the Legion, and i dont see us haveing a good chance anytime soon but i will always bleed orange and black and Eagles green. Man can't believe that the Emery Holtby fight was over 5 years ago already. That's when I really started hating the Flyers as a Caps fan. I look forward to each and every game vs the Flyers although I would say that playing the Pens is definitely a much bigger game. Hate them more than the Flyers.
