How many times are we going to hear the words, “They just made a few mistakes and that’s what beat them.”? This team is a genius at making mistakes when it matters. They are too careless and too slow to become desperate! And Woodcroft’s comment that “hockey is a game of mistakes” does not solve anything! … Have you looked at Woodcroft’s face on the bench over the last few games? It tells you all that you need to know. Where’s the emotion and urgency on this team to start games?? … They have no salary cap space and you can’t trade for “the desperation to win.” And they have no Sorokin or Shesterkin to save them.
Hi Patrick. The Edmonton oilers need to tear up the clubhouse . The head coach needs to scare the players like throwing hickey sticks or pucks at them. Connor mcdavid is the captain he needs to step up and be a captain and take charge of the team. Andy.

Hopefully we can turn this around asap, but given its now 20 games in, I think the urgency to make a trade will have to inevitably go up if the slide continues, because given how the parity in the league seems to be greater this year and so many teams right around the middle of the pack, can’t afford to let these losses pile up.
There is something wrong with our defense. I'm starting to look at the players and their mistakes are awful and in many cases really odd gaffs.
I'm wondering now if it's Mason that's coaching them into something very new and it's causing lots of upheaval as they try to get both their confidence and the system on track. Seems more likely than they play so bad that they'd make the Coyotes defense look playoff worthy.
Let's be honest we don't have the best defense, but this bad? No it's not this bad and so this is why I think there is something wrong that we don't know about yet.

At this point in the season the only bright spots on the Oilers are the offence, which has been excellent scoring 3.50+ goals per game on average and Stuart Skinner, who has been incredible. I think Ken Holland really needs to trade for a defenceman like Chychrun urgently. The defense has been bad this season so far. I hope the Oilers can turn it around.
In this game I think the Oilers just got goaltendered (as The Hockey Guy would say), with 49 shots they easily could have scored 4-5+ and win the game.
Hey Congrats on 500 Vids Patrick Love the Fanatic Rundowns u give us to share the Rumors/Updates ☺also because EDM's record is 10-10-1 they are now out of a playoff picture so any team who gets winning more games will slow the oilers down the standings & im not sure if im ready to watch another struggling game on Saturday against the rangers if things continue like in New Jersey & Islanders tonight be on a lookout for Ken Holland's name written on the wall if he can't make a difference to deal in a player to turn this story around for Mcdavid's sake otherwise his job will be nothing but more patience to come until trade deadline he's gotta be looking at some players to help out this group or else fingers are gonna be pointed at uncle ken to put his life on the line cause how many strikes will he get if he can't figure out the solutions around the ice so if he wants to turn the tides to keep his GM position then make calls & do the deals, Recalls are useless at this point to make a turnover & we already have Janmark and Kostin as our new bottom but it's just not good enough to make this team work better. Everything u see is 1 Gigantic Hole it's not just alot of holes it's very very very BIG. Hope u Understand that Pat have a Goodnight.
I said it last game and i say it this game. They pass way too soft and although their lines were semi normal, they really need to stick to same line ups so they can create synergy. The passing was atrocious like usual. Hyman pushed hard tonight and McDavid and Draisaitl used a lot of effort but they really need to try to lure them out of position. What is with 3 Oilers always fighting for the puck along the boards vs. 1-2 of the opposition. When they do get the puck, who are they gonna pass to? the other team see's that. 2 cover the other 2 open and the 3rd positions themselves between the others and they have 2 chances of deflecting a pass or flat out intercept it… I'm no expert but they clearly need to rethink some of those strategies. We have 2 of the best players in the league and no one can score even 1 goal? Yes, Sorokin played a good game but seriously? I agree with Patrick, they logged 49 shots but i bet no more than 10 were considered high grade chances.
Carson Soucy would be help for our defence but still need that it factor in the line up. Still need a forward to help as well. Reeves would have been nice just for the size factor. 🙄. Counter in San Jose would be a nice fit and there are a couple of other forwards that would work but my mind is drawing a blanc
Until you improve defensively,nothing will change , and that just doesn’t mean the d men , by the way are awful, but forwards not coming back helping , seems to be in wrong spot a bunch
This is why oilers need one those guys enforcer or grinding players!!!! Can’t always depend and rely on just Connor, guy need someone to protect him, Connor is tired .
We have no vet top 4 men. Look at the roles that kulak/ ceci/ Ryan Murray had on their former teams. Barrie has never been good at defending. Nurse thinks he’s a rusher but he is a second pairing dman at best . The others are rookies. We need to trade for Chychrun now. Do it!
