  1. Hmmm…. Making me hopeful again but that 8 game streak dug us in a hole

  2. Tage is starting to remind of Super Mario a bit. His size , his hands , his scoring ability. This kid has sick hands & edges . Skinner , Tuch & Tage are clicking big time. Sound defensive play all night. Sound goaltending from UPL.

  3. Just seeing 89 in the black and red uni was like a great memory brought back from the long lost past! Shades of Mogilny with that move over the blue line on the 4th goal. Boy did they look great tonight, some real sniping by the boys. Hopefully this is UPL's coming of age.

  4. Well, we ended that second 10-game block on a high note. We went 2-8; we scored 32 goals and gave up 42. I had hoped we'd go 6-4, score 45 and give up 38. Tonight was the style of game we've been good at, the wide open, end to end game. We had better speed than St. Louis, but we also gave up too many shots. Fortunately, most of the Blues shots on goal were unobstructed and UPL got a good look at them. St. Louis was a bit sloppy and once they fell behind, there was no way they were going to come back. I'm glad Olofsson scored to shut up some of his critics, and I have to note how fast Peterka is and how he was partly responsible for Cozens' goal. And Quinn was very good; on his first goal, it was great how to came to a stop and used the Blues player as a screen. And his second goal was a great one. Skinner has the best backhand shot on this club. Based on our first 20 games, I can see us going 5-5 over the next 10-game block, and we'll remain just below .500.

  5. I wish I liked the goats but I'm an outlier amoung my friends. I'm too much of a fan of our original jerseys and just something about how the black and reds logo looks too much like a goat doesn't sit well with me even if Sabres had great teams in the past wear them. I get people's nostalgia but I still don't think they are all that great. In the end I'm just one of a few that don't like them and as long as they just wear them as a third and not regular I'll live with them. Team played well tonight and hope they can be more consistent like these past two games. Just a few more tweaks to the roaster and some maturing from the younger guys then these guys might become good…. scary good.

  6. Really happy for UPL, I remember the way he handled team Canada in the World Juniors. That was many years ago but the guy is destined for greatness in the NHL if he can get some confidence and get over the hump!

  7. I was there tonight it was electric. The place was packed and everyone was chirping and yelling. It was just such a good game tonight

  8. I wish we had the goat for life. Plus it's kinda nice that tage and dahlin didn't get any points because it proves that our other players can win us a game

  9. All 4 lines played so well tonight. The boys played so well and nice to see the confidence in JJ and Quinn taking off. With Sammy our GA has really improved. St.Louis is a high scoring team so keeping them at 2 goals was nice to see. Those jerseys are sharp. They are my personal all-time favorite sabres jersey and logo. I always get 89 and 77 on my jerseys. Hommage to Mogilny and Turgeon. Go Sabres!

  10. Might have found our 3rd line
    JJ-Cuzo-Quinn

No disrespect meant when I say 3rd line , what this line could be at it’s peak is a major mismatch. Speed, forechecking, Two-way game and finish🤩

  11. I'm starting to think the Samuelson contract and tage contract are gonna end up being bargains. Kevin Adams could look like a genius

  12. when i first tuned in late in the 1st and right away I saw Joki and my brain said Henrik Tallinder it was freaky

  13. Me too, Brother !!! I was on a motorcycle ride, Wyoming, DC and back. Wasn't even planning a stop in BUF. Had a family matter come up there and the Canes were in town. Didn't have a jersey, but we sure had fun, didn't we ???

  14. I would say to the Sabre faithful, as I said to those who have joined this great team, I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat.

We have before us an ordeal of the most grievous kind. We have before us many long months of toil and struggle to get the Cup of Stanley.

You ask what is our goal?.

I will say, it is to wage war with all our might, with all the strength that God can give us, to wage war against a monstrous hockey league never surpassed in the dark, lamentable catalogue of humanity!

You ask what is our aim?

I can answer in one word: Victory. Victory at all costs. Victory in spite of all terror. Victory however long and hard the road may be.

For without victory there is no survival.

  15. The Sabre's looked so strong, it's amazing they didn't end up getting 8, 9, or even 10 goals! And the chants for UPL was great to hear!

  16. I finally called one right. Ghosts of the past Goats channelled there. Great to see but make me sad with nostalgia. 😊 I guessed UPL would settle, that last game he was thrown in during a panic with Comrie hurt and a losing streak. Too much pressure to heap on a guy. With a win or 2 he'll soon relax and hopefully stay healthy. 😋

  17. I am so happy for Skinners breakout again. Krueger still might be shocked hes not playing on 4th line eh?

  18. I like how UPL was really dialed in! We may have just seen a big step up in his game…

  19. Honestly, UPL strikes me as a late bloomer despite of the win, I just see so much of Pekka Rinne in him – lateral movement, explosiveness, quick feet….however I still feel he is good one or two years from fully unveiling his potential.

  20. Sammy throwin monster hits! Good to see Quinn pop a couple too, I kinda wish now the red and black Goat jerseys should be our primary jersrys now 😂😂 loved it sooo much brought back a lot of playoff memories for sure!

  21. I noticed that UPL plays better in the NHL than the AHL. Who knows. But having Samuelson back has made all the difference, and Bryson missed much of the game, so, there you go.
