The Leafs have learned to win as a defensive team game this year. That has been years in the making.
Great win by the boys a greasy road win wasnt perfect but murray was good again .Matthews seems like he his fighting the puck doesnt have that drive like he did last year was wondering if he has nagging injury he trying to battle with
KIrill was tired… on one knee… BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY!!! the leafs MADE A TERRIBLE GIVE a Way, and it was the EXACT play the WILD wanted… EXCEPT the KIRIL had HIS OWN PLAYER BLOCKING THE OPEN NET,, so HE PUT IT where it needed to NOT GET BLOCKED BY HIS OWN TEAM!!! and that was impressive in itself!
Does anyone else notice how Willy's eyes twitch a lot? I wonder if it has to do with sensitivity to light / his concussion history?
Mitch is by far the best player that Toronto has so smooth so perfect and defensive and is interviews show his maturity when they make him the captain of the team that's when we win the cup
Murray speaks the truth. Very humble. He is looking very good. Great game.
Murray has been great but the team in front of him have done a fantastic job at keeping most shots to the outside, protecting the middle of the ice and limiting 2nd chance opportunities. Keefe deserves a lot of credit for the way this team has been playing defensively. Defense is equal parts coaching and effort.

Murray is starting to play into the 1A level. That is encouraging. Most NHL teams get 1B goaltending and that is ok. Great for Murray!

Good teams find a way despite adversity. 4 NHL veteran D now injured. They basically played 4 D in the 2nd half of the Devils game & held on. Now the Leafs have two 5'9" guys, Mete 188 lbs & Hollowell 170 lbs on their 3rd pair. People thought Murray & Samsonov would be a disaster in net, but so far, together with Kallgren, they've been quite good. 22 games in & haven't given up more than 4 goals in any one game. Matthews is still not quite right, missing lots of in close looks, fanning on shots, hitting posts, crossbars or people. It can't last much longer before he takes off. Marner & Tavares have been solid for the most part. Now at 4th overall in the NHL.
