This is only for 30 minutes of ice time together. Talk about small sample size.

Yeah thats kind of the point, he’s had a good start if we can get some insane package like a 2023 1st plus prospect we should do it, his contract will not age well

Also he doesn’t fit the window

I swear some ppl just cannot understand what a rebuild is about 4 forwards rookies should make the next year and that’s not counting any of the 2023 1st rounders

Ylonen, RHP, Farrell and Heinaman should be pretty solid locks with RHP with his slow start maybe not

That’s not counting Beck and Mesar who could be ready next season as well and whoever we get with our 2 2023 1st rounders

Where do these players play if we keep Anderson or even Monahan like some ppl are suggesting

The issue is not whether Anderson is good (he is certainly overpaid for what he does but not by much). The issue is that through nine seasons in NHL he only once played a full season and it was five years ago. I must admit though that he played much more games than i remember last season so that brings his production back on the table.

Realistically this team will be competitive in 2-3 years. By that time Anderson would be 30-31 and that’s about when power forwars fall of the cliff (see Lucic, Milan)

No one wants to trade him because he’s bad.

  5. BlazeOfGlory72

Yes, whatever would we do without Anderson’s 32 points per year.

  6. Le_Quebeco_Iranien

Yes trade him for a first!

  7. NOOOO. He’s a legit powerforward. It will be hard to replace a guy like him on the team. When we made it to the cup finals, he was literally one of probably 3 players on the habs that can ramp it up come playoff time during the finals against Tampa. With this young forward group, they need to know how to do that.

By the time the Habs are truly competitive he will slow down. trading him now is 100% a good move if GM’s wanna pay up for him

Fairly new to hockey here. Isn’t this expected goals? So, shouldn’t it be compared to actually goals? Like if you’re on a line that sees easier matchups or more ice time, I would expect the goals to increase, right? So shouldn’t the measure be actual goals over expected?

Anderson is that kind of player. There a reason why lot of GM want him on there team.

  11. Jimmy9toes1966

If the return is huge, i’d trade him.

  12. ukrainianhab

Yes please do move that contract

  13. frech77

Anderson has zero hockey iq and a terrible contract. Trade em.

  14. Neo_514

Bring back Tatar, he’s in the top 3!

  15. glasscaseofemojis

For the right price, I’d trade anyone. I like Anderson, and I’m even ok with his contract (which I know is unpopular in this sub). I’d think he’d be a pretty hot commodity for a contending team. If the price is right do it

  16. TheRaphMan

To be fair we should also be trading Dadonov and maybe Monahan

  17. ItzGrenier

If Anderson made half of what he currently does, and for half the term, I’d be all for keeping him

  18. steamcleaner91

Trade Anderson? Wtf. Size, speed, grit, scoring? For whom?

  19. hyydrus

Andy is one of my favorite players, he has his moments offensively (and his downs) but he always stands up for his team and definitely has an impact in the dressing room. I don’t want to lose him unless it’s for something worth it
