  1. Could've sworn there was a rule where if the goalie's mask comes off, the play is dead. I don't know if it's the best rule, but it is the rule. Even worse, earlier in the game the refs tried to allow a Dallas goal after the puck hit the netting. It got overturned, but still terrible on-ice reffing there.

  2. That’s on 44. If he doesn’t push benn there it’s not a goal. Winnipeg initiated contact. Dallas was pushing, makes no sense that they should have to play a face off and give Winnipeg time to reset cause of they’re own screw up

  3. As a Jets fan Morrissey did shove Benn into Helly but the play should've been whistled 2 seconds after it happened. But we got the last laugh in OT.

  4. What a disgusting display, I get you're excited to tie the game, but not a single Dallas player with any concern? The crowd was even worse, how are you gonna chant while a player is down?

  5. How is this not goaltender interference but on wednesday The canucks player was pushed into Francois TOUCHED HIM and moved out of the way for a good few seconds vs the avs and that is no goal….. Hellibuyck is FACE DOWN WITHOUT A HELMET ON please someone explain this to me😑

  6. Luckily for Winnipeg this shouldn't matter in the grand scheme of things since they still won

  7. anybody got rulebook evidence on the helmet penalty? i know it gets blown dead every time but y’all be making a lot of claims without proof

  8. So this counts and Vancouver's didn't the other night… What about the devil's? So if it's Toronto it's different. Typical nhl

  9. one of the jets players did push a stars player into the goalie which led into the goalie's mask falling. Is hellebuyck supposed to sacrifice his life and risk getting shot by a puck directly at his face??

  10. These comments make no sense. This is absolutely the right call. Benn is pushed into the goalie. Blame Morrissey, not the refs. Who cares, he made up for it on OT

  11. so Oettingers pad comes off by his own player and play is called dead immediately but Hellebuycks mask comes off by his own player and play continues, makes sense. Also makes sense how players get fined not wearing helmets in warmups but when a goalies mask falls off during the game its ok.

  12. As a Jets fan it should've just been a penalty for Morrissey and no goal, but regardless the Jets won and the Stars stole a point via the awful officiating.

  13. Jesus christ, that's stupid. If the mask is off the play is dead immediately. I don't care if Jets still won, shits not even consistent in the league.

  14. This same type of play literally happened in the Stanley Cup playoffs when the Avs goalie got his helmet knocked off, and then the Lightening scored right after.
If Hellebuck didn't fall to the ice and play possum, he might have actually been able to make a save and then the play would have been called dead.
As piss poor as the rule is, it's at least consistant.

  15. Stars fan here, just gonna voice my perspective:

So, this in my opinion, shouldn't be a goal. Yes Josh Morrissey does push Benn into Hellebyuk, which invalidates the goaltender interference, but there is a clear missed stoppage. Connor is down and out for a good few seconds before the puck goes in. With the rule that if a goaltender loses their helmet the play must be stopped, I originally thought that was the review was for. I guess the situation room just decided "Ah well we already called a missed stoppage on Robertson before. Can't do that again." which is idiotic. Protect your players.

I'm glad the Stars got a point and I'm glad the Jets got two. But with how tight the top three in the central are right now, and with both of these teams being in that race, that one point could be the difference. Guess we'll see, but I hope that the Hellebyuk renaissance continues for y'all up north! Have a great rest of the season!
