  2. Did anyone else have any idea that Mickey Redmond was so good that he played for both teams at the same time?

  3. canucks tried but the isles just had to much talent, and I happen to love those uniforms the canucks were wearing they look better than some of the uniforms a lot of teams wear today.

  4. The clock struck midnight for the Canucks in this series! The ISLES were a dynasty. Even if the 'Nucks had stolen game 1, they STILL might have lost 4-1. Go Canucks Go!!!

  5. most youtube old hockey tapes have such bad picture quality they are unwatchable, but this one is spectacular.good enough picture, wonderful camerwork, and great game. the old canuck uniforms were magnificent.and why cant we have these modern goalies wear pads like here.it would mean more scoring more excitement, but noooo the goalies union is so damm strong, and the nhl is so gutless…

  6. Anyone know what the theme is called when Dave Hodge is speaking, it was the theme used on CTV Blue Jays baseball in the mid 80's,any help greatly appreciated

  7. Fans jumping on the ice was great but it would never happen again after 1984..If it did u would get a nice beating..not hugged like pre '84-85. Canucks got several first overall finishes as the best team in hockey in the 2000's 6 X Div champs..1993 was thr best chance but lafyette hit the post..They were one post from Going into OT where anything can happen especially with pavel bure on the ice…Ohh well..then 2011 they were up 3-1 games and 2-0 score and blew the lead and series..will they ever get that kind of close actually very close opportunity again??? I say yep they will..They are ranked #4 in elite prospects in the entire NHL..They have several young good Up and coming Skilled Prospects coming in over the next 2-3 years including A future Superstar in Elias Pettersson..The kid is doing what Austin Matthews did playing men..in a men's league…And now look at what Matthews is doing in the NHL…and Pettersson is younger..but just as skilled.

  8. 1993 Canucks team vs 1982 Islanders team would be a great series but the difference would be the speed of bure..thr was no players like him in the 80's..related to speed..obviously thr were many players as skilled and as good as bure but no one with jets speed like him..Not bossy not no islanders…

  9. My dad came to Canada in 1960 And lucky for me I hv 4 Gretzky rookie cards and 4 lemieux and 2 Gordie Howe and many other Top rookie cards like Rocket Richard, Guy Lafleur, Phil eps, bernie Parent Sakic, Yzerman and so on in an album…Amazing stuff…All mint..Want to sell a few but something always stops me..My dad said I can sell a few if I want…Gretzky cards are all signed by him when L.A Played Van in the Playoffs..We met Mcsorley and Gretzky at the practice..The first and last time we met him and I took my Album which they were all in Awww of..

  10. Sittler, Bure, Modano, Lidstrom, Bossy, Potvin, Trot, Messier, Coffee, Bourque But these rookie cards aren't worth anything compared to Gordie Howes and Gretzky and Lemiux…which is $800 But howes is I have no clue…Never wanted to sell it..Gretzky rookie is $2000 but the signed one is much more…one guy sold his for $89, 000

  11. Do you have the 6th game against buffalo in 1980 or any of the series against Pittsburgh in 1975 ?

  12. Vancouver played extremely well and were 11-2 in the playoffs going into the finals. Despite all the hype, they were a much tougher opponent for the islanders than the oilers in 83. The massive egos of the oilers and their arrogance hurt them. They were going around bragging in 83 as if they had already won. The media went along with them.

  13. Game 1 could have very well gone either way. With a split going home, Vancouver would have been formidable. The Canucks respected the Islanders offense and therefore got a lot of chances and fought back from being fiends. The Oilers played the Islanders with total contempt thinking they could blow them away like the weak opposition in their conference. The result was a series where the Islanders outscored them by a nearly 3 to 1 margin.

  14. I still remember this game. It’s great to see this. If I recall correctly, after the Canucks got the first goal, they frustrated the Islanders for quite a while with their checking.

  15. The Canucks were very unfortunate not to win this game. The tying goal was a garbage goal. Well, they all count no matter what kind they are. The Canucks really gave the Islanders all they could handle in the first two games of the series, but I think the Canucks ran out of gas when they got home. The Canucks gave all they had. The fans in Vancouver would have really gone nuts if the Canucks won this first game.

  16. Snepsts should have just made the safe play and rung it around the boards as that would have guaranteed a second OT period.
There was nothing to be gained from attempting a break-out pass up the middle with so little time left on the clock anyway.
Had the Canucks won this game in OT, the series may have turned out to be more interesting but the Islanders with Billy Smith and playoff MVP Mike Bossy were still the better team.

  17. This was one GREAT GREAT team. How complete were they? It's crazy how good they were.
