Every time I half think the Rangers are doing well, God hears me and says bet

  2. Key-Tip-7521

Awful completely awful. Another blown lead. This is one is really hurts. I’m not going to use the Zebra’s taking goals off the board as an excuse. The Rangers let this one slip away. Can’t sit back especially against a team (that’s struggling rn) that has two of the best players in the league. CAN NOT HAPPEN AT ALL. Stupid penalties towards the end (looking at you Laf [nice goal btw]) but damn this one really sucks and stings. The only positive that I could possibly say is that they played a very well good first two periods. Gauthier looked really good. But damn, a head shaker and a head scratcher at the same time. Mini Rant over

On to the Devils. Can’t dwell on this game. Move on to the next.

Gallant’s interview he sounds as passive as the team was 3rd period. He’s talking about a group of guys who have to step up and have a conversation in the room, he’s gotta have a conversation himself with the team and show an angry side. Oomph comes from the top and of he’s not going to show some oomph how can the C and As show some oomph to the rest of the players.

Whether the frustration is « dripping off of [Gallant] »or not as Giannone said, he’s being passively frustrated. That can’t stand.

Honestly this is when Torts as an assistant coach/motivational speaker would be great.

  4. RZAxlash

Way too much overreaction here. Ugly loss but it’s still early and I trust the guys here to figure this out. We played well for 2/3 of this game.

  5. In so happy i was preoccupied with the world cup and didn’t watch this game

  6. Kaapo-Taco

Surely Gallant can’t keep these same lines next game. Veasy-Tro-Goodrow is a 4th line at best, yet he’s got them playing 2nd. Truely cannot comprehend how bad a line that is.

Libor is awful, please stop giving him chances when he continues to prove how bad he is. Jones gets scratched for every little mistake, shattering his confidence. Meanwhile Lundqvist is having a great season in Dallas.

The kid line needs to go as well. Put Laf and Kakko back in the top 6 with Trochek on the 3rd line. 20-93-24/ 10-72-13/ who care after that.

Igor had a bad 3rd. A few of those goals are just inexcusable. If that was Halak, we’d be calling for his head.

This team can’t play a full 60, and their defense is Swiss cheese. What a painful, embarrassing loss. Heads should roll after a performance like that.

    Do not hire Barry Trotz.

    End Ted Talk.

  7. BIGDIRKDIGGLA

I can’t believe I paid money to watch that

  8. overgrownpizzabox

used to think we were getting unlucky, but defense isn’t going to positively regress. team is cooked

  9. vertigounconscious

this is just who we are:

a team where Jimmy Vesey is a top 6 player, where him and Barclay Goodrow make up a 3rd of our top 6, where Julien Gauthier has as many even strength goals as Artemi Panarin and as many goals as Kaapo Kakko.

    We are who we are.

  10. Jmeyers08

Can’t wait to listen to the post game interviews where GG will say they played well and Zib will say we’re just not consistent and Trouba will say the same shit as always.

  11. the_mair

Feels like this team’s absolute ceiling is losing in 6 against the Bruins in the first round

  12. padds98

Monotone Mika talking about being too passive is hilarious. It starts with you buddy

  13. Jmeyers08

Didn’t we shit the bed in similar fashion the last time we wore the reverse retros?

  14. UsedToBeBradfordTwo

The Rangers have been a much better team without a Captain in the last few decades:

2014, Cally traded and Captain by committee =go to cup Finals. Now post rebuild leadership group by committee, and we go to the ECF.

Maybe it’s just the age of twitter and 24 hours news cycle that has made it harder for one man to shoulder the load of Captain on a NY Sports team? I don’t know, but despite people demanding a Captain for *years* I was always just happy to have a strong leadership group. I don’t play hockey for a living but even I know Jacob freaking Trouba who is easily our worst regular dman is not the kind of guy who I would look towards to fix the teams issues

  15. Significant-Ring1652

Not a fan of either team so no bias. The blown lead sucks but that call on lafrenierre was insane.

  16. FearsomeOyster

This team is constructed on the Peter Principle right now and it’s a problem. That principle is that, in a business, managers will be promoted, because they perform well, to the level where they become incompetent because being good at one level does not necessarily translate to higher levels.

Guys like Goodrow and Vesey are incompetent top 6 forwards. But they’re playing there because they’re solid 3rd liners and good 4th liners. I just don’t know why we feel the need to force guys to play out of their depth.

All that said, we need to break up the kids line to intersperse that talent among the team. They were the only line that did anything remotely dangerous in the third, despite the bad penalty for Laf. Actually being willing to play those guys, who have shown they can handle those roles, over more experienced, but worse, vets is the only way this team is going to pull out of this slump.

  17. Gunhucghc

I will say, if there was any gm that would buck the trend and keep Gallant it’s Drury. Business as usual folks 🥴

  18. Optimal_Fennel6835

So I guess that was just puck luck again, huh? /s, just in case. No good hockey player ever believed in luck luck. This is a flawed team.

  19. Envelopen

I cant believe we’ve dropped off this much, if this seasons trends back into failure id like to see a lot of work done with kakko and Laf. Yes theyre both young and have yet to reach potential but they should be showing notable improvement, especially that kakko isnt hurt so far this season.

  20. ccasazza

Opponents coming up in the next 2ish weeks:

    – Devils x2
    – Vegas
    – Avalanche
    – Leafs

  21. Optimal_Fennel6835

Maybe they just need to add some grit.

I hate to say it but Gallant needs to be fired at this point. If it’s now, the Rangers might have a chance to sneak into the playoffs.

I have no clue who they replace him with, but these players don’t seem to care what Gallant says or does at this point.

  24. I seem to remember Laf intentionally pulling guys’ helmets off a few times last season. He got away with it before and I think we directly got a big goal in the playoffs from him doing it once. Really embarrassing signature move for your first overall pick to have.

  25. Nuevayork22

It’s really incredible how fast this team caused to me to lose faith in them.

  26. HumbleBJJ

Is it too much to ask for this franchise to just have a set top line day/night in and out? If Vesey is in your top 6 you have a problem.

  27. sagmoon21

I’ve thought that the “fire GG” crusade was an overreaction…. up until today. Call Barry Trotz ASAP please.

  28. Lights93_

This is EXACTLY what happened to Gallant in Vegas…he needs to go. His line “experiments” are a joke.

  29. DryProgress4393

At least the Bills are doing well…

  30. 1999NYRFan

“This team doesn’t need to be good early on” crowd is really fucking quiet now

  31. UsedToBeBradfordTwo

Ok so what’s the tally on “embarrassing and Unacceptable” losses so far?

  32. DeathcoreMachine

I should have been a Devil’s fan. I chose poorly as a kid growing up on the border of Ny/NJ.
