Forsling and Ekblad each with 3+ goals against. Comically bad defense by them. Paumo kept throwing them out there while they were getting lit up
Edit: Bruno was ragged on for failure to adapt and i was 100% with that. Holy fuck did this game ruin my impression of Maurice. He kept throwing those two out there when it was CLEAR this was not their game in any way.
I don’t see how anyone can defend Maurice. He is so bad. Finally let’s the Panthers play a more open style and we dominate and take a huge lead. Completely changes the structure of play for the second half of the game and we get dominated. It is really unbelievable how bad he is coaching this team.

That’s the kind of game that causes a team to collapse and have their season completely spiral down the drain.
You get a big win against Boston and dominate the first two periods only to take your foot off the gas in the third, cough up the lead and lose in OT. A statement win tonight could possibly spark a win streak but instead we blow a 3 goal lead.
We are 4-4-2 in our last 10. That is absolutely brutal. Meanwhile, Detroit, Tampa and Toronto are on point streaks.
I want to say this team puts it together. They absolutely have the talent to do so. But with the way this season has gone so far, I just don’t see it. And because the universe hates us, I’m willing to bet we win the draft lottery and Bedard goes to Montreal thanks to us dealing this years first rounded for a bottom pairing Dman.

I just got home and I’m fucking speechless the two styles of play (first vs third) is MIND BOGGLING. I don’t know what ownership needs to see. THAT was embarrassing.
We skated all over the blues outside of one breakout in the first and all of a sudden… NO SPARK. That’s not on the players. That’s the definition of a coaching lapse. THAT was embarrassing. It’s the first L this year that truly feels embarrassing.
Whatever Hockey Maurice told them to play in the third was LOSER hockey. “Playoff hockey” is not fucking staying in your own end for the whole period waiting for an empty net goal.
