Look what a positive impact the Golden Knights have had with the coach they signed from Boston. Was Blake sleeping? The whole concept of speed was over emphasized. In the playoffs the best teams have a roster full of players with size, speed, and skill. Look at the Avalanche. Scouting should focus on size, speed, and skill not just speed and skill. This applies to forwards and defenders. Look how the Kings struggled with the Avalanche last year. The Avs are the team to measure the Kings by. Gut check time for Luc and Rob.

The Kings are facing teams that they should beat to solidify their playoff chances. They play well against the Oilers, but the Kings DEFENSE needs to improve and their Power Plays. Another very good Defenseman could work miracles on ice. Salary cap goes up next year. Kopitar is great, but not the same obviously. Doughtey got a very large contract, due to his CUP wins and past performances. Probably a good idea to bring some players up from the REIGN. Players are going to retire sooner than before, and that will help the CAP. I would let Todd continue to coach the team this year. Then make a decision. GO KINGS GO. It's a great game. NHL rules.
Honestly while I’m not a big supporter of the Toddfather, but I’m putting the blame for this inconsistent mess on Blake. This D is totally out of balance with 2 LH D on the team. This isn’t even our best 6. Spence should be in LA but he’s not because they’re trying to get Durzis value up for a trade and Walkers salary. They have the assets to get balance in the D but they haven’t done that yet. Chykrun isn’t the answer. Blake’s left the D exposed and out of balance because he hasn’t made the moves needed to do that.
If I could hire experienced Head Coach it would be Joel Q otherwise Sturm getting a chance is fine. TMac system does not work even his PP with 4 forwards giving up SHGs leading the league is major reason Sharks never came close to Cup with him. Tortz much like him played a dated defensive system making Islanders games unwatchable not competitive. Now a new HC they are doing well but Devils kept Ruff had that win streak. Most if not all were calling to keep NYI coach but get rid of Devils. Bruins/Knights both got new coaches doing well. Playing Vilardi who has 11 as many goals as Eichel on line with -7 Grundstrom along with Lizotte -5. Stuff like that playing 4 or 5 RHD. LA weak in own zone teams cycle or get faceoffs and score. Quick if he returns I think it will be year to year like Edler probably cost 3 to 5M range. Cal is not really a competitive guy or invested in the outcome heh. Penguins if things don't pan out have 3 LHD who LA could try to get who has size. Kings are spending basically 11M on the goalies 10.8M only Florida has a higher combined cap I think. Logan Thompson contract if he continues to play well will really help Knights save money in net to spend in other spots unlike LA or Seattle. I'd like to see Ward promoted was really hoping he would make team out of camp. Chromiak has had health issues or he would have been in the mix. Helenius would be cool maybe Lias get to play. Jacob I hoped would have made team right out of camp but they wanted to do that BS with Clarke. As long as Spence who is another 5'6 scrub liability in own zone no velocity or ability to be NHL player hehe. On the Bright side at least if any of their Goalies have to play the bar is set low for save percentage and GAA. I remember when I played goalie without a helmet that was rough. I don't know why anybody would ever do that as was first piece of EQ I bought even before pads. That Archibald guy who is on Penguins now I think had like ten to twenty hits in a game against Kings for Oilers in Post Season. I had no idea Brown was the hits leader so its cool Cal topped him :).
When the team is executing properly they are a force to be reckoned with. Right now they are developing and still in the building process.
I believe they are better than their current record. I vote to keep him.
I am glad we kept quick if we hadn't I don't think we would be were we are now not just by his game play but by his leadership also Blake should never have gave Peterson that contract it was to soon he didn't earn It i believe not by the way he was playing before and definitely not by the way he is playing now and the kings would be in way better shape if Byfield and turcott were playing the way a second and fifth pick overall should b playing just for starters few things not going right hope kings can get it straightened out sooner then later but as always GKG 💯
