  1. Disagree on Kerfoot. His speed and penalty killing are valuable. He's usually defensively sound. His scoring will come around, just snake bitten right now.

  2. I really hope the ghosts of recent seasons past are that…. in the past!! I sooooo want to believe in this team again. Matthews can forecheck and be effective if he's not scoring goals. Is Holmberg another Tomas Kaberle? A later round pick who will pan out?? You can't have everything e.g. Kerfoot, Engvall…etc not productive. But for all the injuries they've had (has any other team had both goalies AND 3 of their defensemen gone?) I'm very happy. Aren't you Steve? 😁

  3. Steve, so happy for you, on TV now, doing commercials, and more, you worked for it, you deserve it, keep doing it. Yes the Leafs were great today, Marner was hitting and everything. He's going to start putting them in the net more.

  4. Mitchell freakin Marner. I've been watching him do this since his time in London. Our best player imo.

  5. timothy liljegren has become one of the best leaf since the start of the the playoffs in my opinion thots??

  6. I was really hoping Auston would score tonight- even though he’s been playing so well and getting assists- because it seems he wears that monkey on his back pretty heavily. And that goal was SO fantastic- pure AM34 gold- and his celly was so ripped right through his whole body, it just lit up my heart.
As you say, that’s not good news for the rest of the league!
    Great game by EVERYONE tonight.

  7. Crosby's absence in the first period (equiptment or otherwise) really slowed any comeback by Pittsburgh

  8. I'm the first one to jump all over Holl I will admit but if he just sticks to this part of his game, just stays steady, he can be decent. Don't try to be Orr. Just play steady.

  9. This felt like watching "one of those" Leaf games in reverse. The Leafs this time are the team with the comically stacked deck. A ravaged corps on the blueline, a notably slumping player, a third string goalie who has had to take the hotseat for two big acquisitions in what has to be an insanely high-pressure scenario, and an entire team who just had to play a game yesterday and show up in town in mere hours. How many times have we seen other teams face these kinds of adversity while playing against the Leafs and succeed despite the moneyline?

This time, they were the ones surviving and thriving. A cobbled together team defense puts on a clinic. Auston Matthews is basically willed out of the cold by Bunting. Kållgren has a worldie and barely even concedes a goal, and the whole team despite travel and toil against Minnesota outworks the hell out of a team like Pittsburgh, who know what kind of drive you need to win with their experience. Absolutely exactly what you want to see from the Leafs who face scrutiny for their compete level so regularly it might as well be marked on the calendar like the games are. Great game.

  10. The best was buntings pass 💯 and Crosby freaking out🤣🤣🤣what's the point streak total for a leaf record?? It's sittler with 33 in the 78 season

  11. Here's another impressive statistic!: The Leafs defense tonight? Total salary for ALL 7 PLAYERS (including Timmins, who didn't skate) $7,950,000M!! Also, they played their 3rd/4th string goalie, Erik Kallgren ($750,000 AAV).. This is REMARKABLE!! Kris Letang and Jeff Petry alone have an AAV of $12.5M lollll

  12. As a habs fan, the bunting falling down pass to matthews reminded me of gallagher doing a similar pass for max pacioretty against the rangers, 5 or so years ago
