I packed it in after the 2nd goal (after the already non goal*s*) figuring these guys just weren't going to figure it out yet again. Maybe I won't watch the next game either, see what comes of it
Oilers should of had this game wrapped up in the second 🙄 period. In the middle start in the first. 2 reviews that went our way finally and big as well. Just wish the boys could play like this all the time aka 3rd period
Only saw highlights. Nice to see depth scoring. 2 goals disallowed so some luck for a change as well. Holloways first was a beauty. Bouch with two bombs. Hopefully the team goes on a win streak. Keep the vids rolling.
We also got an answer to the question "How many goal lead to you need to beat the Oilers". The answer is "MORE THAN YOU CAN SCORE" or in this case, more than three. What a comeback. It's NICE. Great vid as always. Take care all.
Hollywood meets the big Apple, and the Oilers get a big result. Is this the start of that momentum shift Jack and Louie said could come from this game?
The Oilers start games with all the ferocity of a shy kid on his first day at a new school. Then they go into their Keystone Cops routine, running around and fumbling the puck in the defensive zone. … I am very happy about what the Oilers did in the third period – and about what Bouchard and Holloway were able to accomplish “offensively,” but seriously, that is 1 period of hockey. When the Oilers show that they can play well for (multiple) entire hockey games, then they will be taken seriously as a dangerous playoff team. … Also, Draisaitl’s faceoff percentage today implies that there is something not 100% with him.
I turned the tv off after it went to 3-0. Blew me away when I checked online and OIl tied it. Don't think were out of woods yet. We need Defensive stability. We know playing from behind is recipe for disaster.
Always happy to see an Oiler win. Having said that this was far from an ideal game. Disallowed goals made a huge difference. And overcoming a three goal deficit is rare, not a recommended strategy. It is troublesome that, although we can arguably boast that, as a group, we have the best top 6 forwards in the league, we are barely hanging on to a 500 win percentage and are in fact in the bottom third of the league. Everybody is critical of our defensemen, which is somewhat of a legitimate observation. Probably more significant is our goaltending situation. We do not have an NHL caliber number 1 starting goaltender. Skinner might become one. Campbell is doubtful as a #1. He has a 4 gaa and a 870 save percentage. Pretty much at the bottom of the league.
The fact we had the support guys scoring is huge. All the elite teams have that and to be considered an elite team you need that we've seen that McDavid and drai can't do it themselves… Huge win by the Oilers
Man after 2 periods I was considering stoping watching the game, but I stuck through! Every game now matter how far the oilers are down I have watched, although I have only been a fan since February. My dad has called me a “truer fan them him already” and he has been watching since the oilers dynasty 80s
Aside from SOP and a sort of Protocol I'm wondering why anyone anywhere would think that bringing up Benson is going to serve any kind of purpose?!? He has one goal that came in a 6-2 loss after who knows how many games of doing not really much of anything! Fights? Nope! Hits? Not really! Points? F no! So what really is the point other than just shuffling?! Even bringing up Malone instead of Shore is a totally useless move because they're just different versions of each other! Shift people out with a purpose and to bring in different roles and I can see it! Send Holloway down and bring up a tough guy? Oh wait, we don't have one do we? So what's the point?! Bring up an elite passer instead of a hopeful scorer? Oh wait, we don't have one. We have carbon copies of the bottom 6 all over the operation! Keep Holloway and actually give the kids minutes! Maybe then something will start to change!
Guys, I want to share something that's bothered me about the main stream media Narrative regarding the 3rd and 4th lines scoring and producing.
1. Our 4th line play under 10min on average a game. This isn't happening with any other winning team. People will say, "well if they scored more they would get more time", it's funny that people believe that line. That can work for some players in some circumstances, but typically this is a false narrative. Players who spend most of their time on the bench almost always play poorly.
2. Our 3rd isn't much better. Probably averaging about 12min overall. Almost no player plays less than 10min on winning teams e.g. Boston, Tampa…
2. When you know a player has a confidence problem you don't decrease their time unless you want to ruin their confidence. Believe that or not…That opinion aside this is also a false narrative. Drai and McDavid make many many terrible defensive plays game after game and season after season. Watching Drai and McDavid glide back into the defensive zone with an attacking player directly between them and the goalie and within reach is standard operatinnng procedure for them and many others in the top 6. It's so so normal that we cheer when those two make a defensive play that stops the shot. Btw it's not just those two, but as the leaders I'd expect them to lead by example than they do. So cutting Hollywood and other young talent's time to the bone because of rare (learning moment) defensive mistakes is f'ing brutal, because the narrative is a lie. He and others are receiving ice time cuts because someone has to be blamed and the coach and organization don't have the stones to hall their two leaders out into the media and hold them accountable. So many excuses are getting made about them it's disgusting.
I was going to go on, but I realize I'm writing a novel here and I'll just stop…Sorry for the novel.
PS. None of my response is about something Patrick or others have said here, just my frustration with the mainstream media and the Oilers organization. Just making sure no one things I'm pointing figures at our community members.
Holloway was way overdue, the guy does possess a good shot and scoring touch around the net unlike JP with a few golden opportunities alone in front and blows it as usual. Good thing JP is a big boy or he’d be gone a long time ago.
The good part is that when they play like that throughout the whole game, The oilers are actual cup contenders they can also play like that for the rest of the season

Crazy game, went from disappointed to excited, amazing stream per usual!!
Delicious ending !!!
Finally, we got some depth scoring to win a game. Broberg needs to be stronger on the man he is covering.
Finally Boucbombs gets through without getting blocked 👍🏼 let’s go oilers!!
Time to build off this!!
What a goal for holloway, not just for him but for the team

Congratulations Holloway! Happy that was the turn around goal for our team. Go Oil!

Bouchard had some a good shot they should put him on the first powerplay but it was a good 3 period
