Spot on analysis. These guys need playing time. And they should get plenty of it in Abbotsford. It will help them, and it will probably be very good for the Abbotsford Canucks in making them a more competitive team.
As long as they get to play somewhere and it’s not just a paper move.

This will be good for podkolzin I think playing in Abbotsford will help him acclimate to the NHL game better and he will get more minutes and better opportunity. He has been just overall quite ineffective and this should help
BURROUGHS!! I say once dermott is back and we know for sure his concussion issues are cleared that the team pursuers on waivers and keep Burroughs up he has been better
Starting to think if we should play Rathbone to up his value again and then try to move him for areas of need. Even if he does play well he's still not optimally utilized as a 3rd LD when we already have Hughes and OEL ahead of him. Unless they see a Forsling in him, we should look to deal him for a similar caliber RHD.

Getting playing time and "keeping play ready" is always better than just sitting outside….Come on Canucks!
They'll have to watch how sending Podkolzin down effects Kuzmenko's demeanour. I'm surprised that he hasn't been re-inserted since team effort/play has improved.
I'd echo the poster who suggested that they trade Garland. Yes, very skilled/fast player, however, he doesn't seem to fit well with the team. For his salary, he just isn't achieving enough.
If not scoring or setting up players for goals, a Canuck forward should be a defensively skilled, larger, more aggressive type who hits everything in sight & makes things uncomfortable for the other team. It wouldn't hurt if that same player was a decent scrapper. Such players are usually cheaper in salary. I guess I'm describing a Brad May type of player, or a Virtanen/Chiasson type, who chips in occasionally, hits hard, grinds, but, can play PK & defensive zone well.
sheldon dries should not be sent down. hes spent so many years going up and down through the minors he needs to stay with vancouver
Like to see these players playing & gaining confidence, so for now it's ok. However I'm worried about how they develop as Nhlers when they're not there in the NHL,over Alvins new pick ups which i believe are huge mistakes & not as skilled as much, except maybe Bear.. Then there's Hoglander when Pearson comes back. I'd rather see Pearson out on trade or waivers & sign Horvat. The Canucks don't give their youth time to learn & grow. Everyone on the team make crazy mistakes & the Canuck management use their youth as targets for blame & sit them. Unfair & frustrating. These young guys are our hope for the future & are exciting. Hope it works out for everyone.
