    I like both though with the Boston one I would've removed the wordmark.

    With the Penguins one the back of the neck is referencing the checkerboard pattern on Pittsburgh's coat of arms and the coat of arms of William Pitt which the city was named after.

    These are magnificent sweaters! The more I look at the Pirate one, the more I think this is a Reverse Retro. Boston 9/10, Pittsburgh 9.5/10

    Shame Adidas is stepping away from NHL uniforms so soon, they've been getting better and better with custom jersey templates/designs lately.

    I wish the NHL someday comes up with a idea of having all 32 teams play a winter classic game every year with all of the games played on the same day.

    I agree with you, I do not like the shoulders at all, they need to come down more like a normal brand, or just completely take it off.. it kills the look. But on the team store it looks way 😊better lol

    I think Adidas could’ve done better but honestly these jerseys for this year‘s winter classic aren’t that bad it good

    The Boston one is incredible for what it is, 9.9/10 and the Pittsburgh one is a bit meh, but I'm probably just jealous about the size of that P.

    The Boston Kersey should jave had a primary brown color and off white on the top around the yellow shoulders.

    I saw a lot of people saying the pens jersey was mid which I couldn’t disagree with more. I thought this jersey was so clean when I saw it

    The one thing that really bothers me about Pittsburgh’s uniforms (and this is coming from a Pens fan) is their pants….they wear the same pants with every jersey no matter what and for some of their jerseys they’re okay but with the RR 2.0 and to a lesser extent both alternates and original RR the logo on the pants and on the jersey don’t match

    Have been a Pens' fan for a long time and I agree with Neil that the team always seems to do a good job with their "alternate" style jerseys and I really like this one too!👍

    Winter classic has gone stale, always the same boring teams. Definitely not watching, penguins are boring to watch.

    I love the Pittsburgh jersey. It's a perfect winter classic and I think it's awesome they're doing a Pirates throwback (At Fenway Park no less). The 2 jersey definitely go well together. Should be a good game, hopefully Pens win

    If I’m not mistaken this is the first time Pittsburgh has ever used black & gold in a winter classic since the outdoor games against Philadelphia were stadium series all the other winter classics they’ve worn a shade of blue

    A bit of background on the Pens jersey:
    – the pattern in the back of the neck is actually the Pittsburgh flag in reference to the Pittsburgh flag being on the sleeves of the Pirates jerseys.
    – the stitching on the P and the numbers is actually all triangular to play homage to the bridges in Pittsburgh.

    It’s all the small things that make that Pens one an absolute MUST purchase—even for Pens haters like me.

    when these both dropped, i initially hated both of these. i'm still not crazy about either, but i'm still most likely going to get the bruins winter classic.

    What gets me that basically whoever designs the jerseys have a blank slate but ends up being so reserved and boring. The games are completely boring maybe because the league does so many games.

    I wasn't a fan of the Boston one (Boston fan here) until I saw the entire thing with Bergeron. Then it comes together so well. I got a Bergeron one because I feel like he is on his way out and probably the last Winter/Outdoor/Stadium style jersey they make for him, but if he wasn't I also would have probably passed on these until they went on sale or something. Pittsburgh knocked it out of the park.
