The stats i see are Isles 9th in gf, 6th in ga. The top line-13, 12, 26-have 12 goals in 24 games. The second line-27, 29, 18-have 24 goals in 24 games. the p,p,p line has 19 goals in 24 games (20 for 21). The second and third lines should not have more goals that the top line that averages a goal every two games. That is the main problem with Isles line up and needs to change. yes barzal is at a pt. per game pace but how sustainable is that with 85% of those pts. assists. Its not like he is oates with a finisher like hull on his wing to dish to all season. Until lou figures that out and gets some explosiveness on that top line holding down a playoff spot will be tough. A long playoff run? Probably not. More like a first round ouster with lack of punch up front. The d is fine and more mobile joining the rush and the goaltending is among the best. That offense will remain the ?. And i don't trust lou to get that scorer needed for top line. He'll trade a first away once again. probably for some scrub vet winger that wont make a difference. Or for a center that they don't need like horvath that wont fit in just like palmieri. And that is my nightly rant about the offense…. Good show Gil.
