  1. skating should be split between like 2 or 3 step acceleration and top speed, because a slower player can really get away with the low top speed by being able to accelerate to that top speed really quick, at least that is how it works for sprints

  2. Trade Barrie out for +4.5M. Bouchard will replace Barrie as Makar did with the Avs. He's a solid offensive defender and should get some solid return on a decent cap given his numbers. That means 11.5M to sign Yam, Pull, McC and Kulak (important). They could make a play for Kane, keep Smith and elevate Skinner. Kane is a VERY good fit with McD, so he'd be worth the price. Archibald is a heavy forward solid for the 3rd line against heavier matchups. If Kane doesn't happen, then there's a good chunk to test the market for a goal tender or a Top 6 F. Also, Holloway is the power forward that could replace Kane. With that in mind, if he's ready they can skip Kane, and go hard on a Top6 or tender. The right goal tender will be pricey, but reality is, with Skinner just 23 he's got a few years to evolve, and there is a gap.

  3. The future is looking good for the oilers! Plus I think that mcdavid kid is going to be good. Keep an eye out for him.

  4. Oilers are probably making a deep run next year. The pacific looks weak. Flames are likely declining Vegas will probably be good if they don’t do anything stupid. Edmonton has the chance for another important year I think.

  5. If Keith retires I think they get a 8.5 million cap space too. 16 million could make them deeper than a kitty pool.

  6. Can u do this video for the Calgary flames? The Stockton Heat which are the flames AHL team have some really good players like Pelletier, Philips, and Wolf

  7. Oilers need to stop dicking around and get a Starting goalie to bridge the gap until Skinner is ready. They aren’t doing a damn thing in the playoffs until they have one. You can talk about the Forwards and D all you want, none of it matters until you have a dependable keeper.

  8. Mark my works, this is the Farthest McDavid and Draisatl will get as Oilers, why? Because Daryl Katz is healthy again and back in charge. That means one thing: Cuts. Too everything. That Presser was basically Ken Holland going into complete despair because he now knows the level of cheap asshole that signs his Paycheck. I expect Holland to resign and retire within the next year, and then all his hires be fired to save money. To give you an idea of how cheap Daryl Katz is, he used Substandard Roofing materials on his "Dream Palace" Rogers place because the Roof made up the majority of the 20 percent of the building he had to pay for. Which of course led to leaks and costly reinforcement of the Roof less than two years later. This man is Bill Wirtz levels of Cheap and Miserly. And like Wirtz, will waste a Generational talent chasing profit.

  9. I see a ton of people saying trade this person away and that player too to create cap space. The issue is, you need to find another team that wants that player. And if you are trading away someone with a bad contract, you will have to add draft picks, or prospects. It’s easy to say let trade Keith and Kassian, but who wants them? Plus, if you do trade them away, you now have to replace them.

Personally, I think Edmonton should let Kane go. Yes he is a good player, but Edmonton doesn’t need a 6-7 million dollar winger to play with McDavid. They need scoring depth from their 2nd and 3rd lines. If they use nearly all their available cap space on one guy, they aren’t solving any problems. Have a first line of Hyman-McDavid-Yamamoto, and a second line of RNH-Draisaitl-Holloway/UFA. It’s better to have 2-3 really good lines than 1 amazing line

  10. As a South of the border hockey fan that grew up playing football ( And don’t get me wrong I don’t mean soccer) I love listening to you explain hockey through the eyes of a coach as myself after playing football I became a coach myself. So the small details that like an average hockey fan wouldn’t know but a coach of any sport could technically get because it’s fundamentals and techniques of the craft. Add in some heart and grit and that’s football folks…..shit I mean that’s coaching.
I have a two-year-old son that I want to play hockey. (me never even leased up and skated on ice)I’m from Florida luckily we live about an hour from Tampa so the whole you know we have a hopefully soon to be dynasty thing has been good for the area. When it comes to facilities popping up. Not bragging or anything that’s just my two cents on why I think the Tampa Bay Lightning have been good for hockey. Love your Chanel brother glad I found it. Sincerely Coach duke…… did I forget to say boats boats boats.

  11. Id like to see some stuff about neimolinen or however you spell it cause he plays a few nhl games and looked really good from my eyes

  12. Broberg, Holloway and Skinner will all be on the Oilers next season. They aren't going to promote 5-6 guys. OMG. There's no way in hell Bourgault plays in Edmonton next season. Ditto Savoie, Lavoie, and Petrov. If the Oilers sign UFA Kuzmenko, he'll be a rookie and he'll play Top 6 minutes. Markus Niemeläinen will see games in the NHL next season. You talk way, way, way, way, way too much in these blogs. I zoned out 15 seconds into each player description. What are you basing your stars ratings on? Do you attend games in Bakersfield?

  13. He's food for thought: What would it take for the Oilers to target right-shot defenseman John Klingberg from Dallas? He's 29, so if you gave him a maximum length deal (7 years for a UFA), he'd be 36 when it expires. Would $7 million per do it? $8 million per? And how exactly do you make the cap space for it? Obviously Barrie would have to go under that scenario with no cap hit coming back (so Barrie for picks). If you can't trade Kassian, you buy him out. That would save about $2 million this season. And then maybe you completely pass on signing Kane. It's not financially impossible, and it's highly unlikely, but if you want to improve the Oilers defense via free agency, Klingberg is the target. The other defenseman I would love the Oilers to pursue in free agency is Josh Manson, as he brings the toughness and meanness the current Oilers D lacks, plus he's a right-side defenseman.

  14. I would like a more in depth video on the lesser prospects.
Guys like Desharnais, Neimalainen, and all the guys kind of added at the end of the video.

  15. Draisaitl's drastically improved his skating after his first year so I have some hope they can work with Bourgalt too

  16. Bourgalt looked very good last preseason. He was way too small and young to make the team but you could tell that with some more growth he's definitely going to make the team soon.

  17. Dylan Holloway is a stronger skater but isn’t a great finisher. Doesn’t like to go to high danger areas. Great forechecker and physical like you mentioned.

  18. scotty bowman said give me speed and i'll take care of the rest. that was 40 years ago. the only constant in the nhl.

  19. holloways skating is elite – skates better than most nhlers and his defence is greater than you’re suggesting. xGF & xGA while also looking at actual GF & GA

bourgault is a better shooter than passer even tho his hands are top notch (not elite) but he’ll either bottom out as a third liner or max out as a pastrnak type of player. either way good value but i do agree he needs to put more weight on and i think that’ll really help his skills translate to the NHL
