  1. I wonder if the oilers would consider trading for max domi!…I like him…he scores and he plays on the edge and he’s tough as nails but more importantly he’s only 3 million a year!

  2. Thank you guys for doing this pod cast after every game because it’s how I get to know what’s going on!…I still cannot watch the games and I’m so grateful when I hear your break down!

  3. I wasn't confident when we had a 4 -1 lead. We are famous for our 3rd period meltdowns and losing games we should win. We almost blew this one, thanks goodness we won. Hopefully we can beat the Wild tomorrow. Thanks for the Podcast guys, I love your work and look forward to it after every game.

  4. The Oilers need some defense-minded players.
Not sure what RNH doing tonight, 8 PIMS with a double minor in the final mins. That is not the RNH we know before.

  5. It seems every time we play the wild we are coming off of a back to back games!…I’m sure that was the case last year and now again this year!…I guess Campbell will be in net and I think we will lose this game cause the guys are going to be tired!

  6. I didn't catch the game but I watched the highlights. The Chicago broadcasters commented when Nurse, with just moments left in the game, went down on his knees which allowed the Chicago player to pass the puck from behind the net to an open player in the slot for a point blank shot which almost tied the game. This is one of Nurse's signature moves that irritates me and you boys at the Cult of Hockey have commented on a number of times as well, so I was surprised to hear Bruce name him his good thing from this game. Especially if you guys said he was a culprit on some of the later goals against. But, if he played a good game overall, then he deserves the credit I guess.

  7. “This is a game that should have ended 6-1, but it ended 5-4. They allowed the Blackhawks to stay close, which forced the Oilers to use their top players more than they wanted to (- with another game tomorrow night).” – Rob Brown on 630 Ched postgame show. Exactly, Rob. And RNH just shouldn’t have taken that careless 4:00 minute penalty. . . . Hyman is like a net-front version of Evander Kane – he never met a 2ft shot that he didn’t like to take.

  8. I thought Nurse was in good position on that goal he ended up screening Skinner; I can't blame him on that one. He definitely lost his man on that fourth goal though, which to me was his only real mistake on the game. By that point he'd played 28 or so minutes, so that likely had something to do with it.

  9. A very honest assessment by our hosts whereby the Oilers should have won this game by a much larger margin except for the fact that they took far too many undisciplined penalties. Even so and judging by Coach Woodcroft's brief remarks following the game, we should expect that the Oilers will have to tighten up their defensive game against the Wild as that team in particular has a well established reputation for their highly effective defensive game coverage and then grabbing opportunities when available. So, how do the Oilers beat this kind of team? Scoring the first goal or two could make all of the difference as that would force the Wild to change their game plan and that in turn could benefit the Oilers.

  10. Still an amazing amount of an Oiler gains possession, and then finds a way to throw it to an opponent even when under no pressure. Again it proved costly. They won, but I hope they can iron that out soon.

  11. Seems Broberg may not be a NHL player… Neimel maybe better… Team is doing great getting points. Likely need to consider how can create 3 lines by the Spring.. as GM has not provided enough scorers for even 2 lines so far… unfortunately Yama/Foeg/Pulju are more like AHL player vs their demands for $10mil or holding out.

  12. No mention of that fantastic play by Jamark shooting in and collecting it with a pass to JP and out to Nuge. Great goal!

Also I am 100% a fan of David and bruce. But sometimes I don't agree of course. David was saying that there are few players in the NHL that could do the play where McDavid went down the left wing and passed it over to Drai who knocked it in. But I think that might be the Rose Colored Glasses bias that he often admits to himself, because I think there are lots of players in the NHL who can and who do score those kinds of goals. I always wonder why the Oilers don't have more odd man Rush Plays given their speed and skills.

  13. I am among the biggest Oil fans out there. That being said I am also a hockey fan. A hockey fan that knows Nurse and “his” dcore is atrocious. I actually would like to see him traded. Pipe dream when he makes double what he’s worth. (Thank you Seth Jones and Chicago Blackhawks)

  14. Hawks are the worst NHL team…. and yet the swiss cheese defense turns likely blowouts into tight affairs…..there is going to be ZERo mystery if this team fails to make the playoffs…..IT's a shame we dont play the blackhawks 3 times in the next 10 days like we are about to play the WILD.

  15. Why such a negative start in your commentary to an Oiler’s win? You always say how closely matched NHL teams are so why the surprise when other teams battle back? The Oilers did the same in battling back in the previous two games! Did I stumble onto to a Flames broadcast?
