Blake is keeping the Clarke decision close to the vest. I think he is biding his time to see if Clarke is going to be able to compete in the world juniors.

Even though Clarke is available to play in LA i doubt we see LA start the clock on his ELC right now.

  2. On the coaching change atm i think there's still time to turn around the inconsistencies. If it continues i could see a change. If it turns around or shows strong signs it can turn around i think it buys Todd some time.

  3. I think Todd should complete this season with the LA KINGS and then make a decision as to his status. He will probably be let go at that time, but at least let see how it goes the rest of the year. I generally do not like Coaching changes in Mid-Season. Also, Blake should sit down with Todd and ask him what he sees is the biggest problems with the team. DEFENSE is a big one and so is Power Play and Penalty Kills. Not good enough and maybe more practice and using different lines. Mix it up more. Anyway, GO KINGS GO, love the NHL.

  4. I do question Tmac’s system but I still think he is the right coach for this team “if” he stops being stubborn and mix things up. At this point our # 1 like is the NICE line. It should be labeled publicly as such because they’ve earned it !!! I’m sorry but Kopitar should now be our 2nd line center. I’m not saying stripping his “C” yet, but what exactly is he saying in the locker room ? My guess is not enough, and perhaps we need a leader who will call out his team at this point. Kempe has once again performed is disappearing act ! There are too many other players not being benched that need to be. A message needs to be sent and Tmac needs to insert anyone from the Kings or Ontario that is willing to give 60 min effort. Depth on a team is only a valuable thing if you use your depth to your advantage! We have the most depth in the NHL and it’s time to bring up about a half dozen of these kids and scare the vets for their jobs. Shake up players first, and if this doesn’t wake this team up, then a big trade even if trading equal talent back and forth and getting new blood in line up.
If that doesn’t help, then we need a new coach.

  5. Kings spending to the CAp are well behind two Expansion teams only in Third because Canada ones are struggling vastly below expectations. If can't hire Joel Q or Sturm then Marc Crawford might be an interesting option as I think he won Cup with Avalanche was candidate when made mistake hiring TMac. Him moving Vilardi off the Kopitar Kempe line only to end up injured going from plus player to even in single game. They went from having 3 or 4 lines scoring or playing well to none. Senators I picked to win were lucky to get a point. Playing a guy out of position at LD is a liability not blame of Durzi etc. He scores more than enough points to compensate unlike Mediocre Mikey among others. Walker had botch that led to breakaway in Rangers game. LA should make Playoffs but if they drop from top 3 in Pacific it could lead to firing. I think they could get Chicken. I do notice most seem negative or realistic about Kings when usually they are overly positive or optimistic. So I think anything less than getting into second round will result in a new Head Coach. I think Rob Blake is safe or least another season or two though. I'll laugh if Clarke gets snubbed by Team Canada again but maybe somebody aged out for him to get in.

  6. I think the Kings need to move players around I hate to change the 2nd line ( our best ) but Kopitar should play center on a defense first line typically a 3rd line to play against the opponents top line and our best center in Phillip Danault with Kempe and Fiala and 2nd line (speed line ) should get one of the young centers probable Lizzott or see Vilardi back to center . I have seen to many puck battles won By Arvidsson only to pass to no one Defense line 3rd Kopitar Centers maybe with Grunstrom and Lemieux ( when he gets back ) and a solid 4th to hold steady after PP/PK, and road line changes while the other lines rest That's what a new coach would do something kinda like that anyway but I would like to see our coach do something this drastic before he gets terminated And lastly we need better defense !!! the play the offensive style of our defense is killing us because they suck at it. whew! a lot to say but that's how this 30 year kings fan thinks… Go Kings Go!

  7. Great video, Eddie! I agree 100% with you about real concern re: Kings inconsistencies. Kings are overrated or underachieving. They have not bought into giving full effort & focus for each shift. They fancy themselves as a run & gun team instead of the strong checking team of last year. You can't fire the while team so if they continue to struggle next 3-5 games, they need to fire Todd & make a trade for a big LHD (I like Sanheim, Edmundsen, Soucy) & an elite goalie prospect. Iafallo & Byfield returning will not fix this team. No Cup run this year or next2-4 yrs unless we find or develop a top tier goalie. If we lose to Kraken & Carolina, even if we beat Coyotes in between, major change(s) will be needed.
