@Flyers de Philadelphie

Hello guys, Flyers fan here. My take — DeAngelo may not be the ideal 1st-pair partner for Provy, but he has to be better than Yandle who was absolutely terrible, over a minus-40 something. And he was the power play QB which explains why they gave up so many short-handers. Provy can't possibly have 3 bad years in a row , can he ? TK got into this "high & wide" funk 2 yrs ago, can't put a shot in an open net. Like he couldn't throw a beach ball in the ocean despite standing in the sand. Don't know how Fletcher plans to use Deslauriers & McKewen other than to bust skulls after a game gets lop-sided. Expect them to lead the league in penalties, fights, suspensions, worst goal differential, power play goals given up, least power goals scored. Fletcher did not add any offensive scorers to this team, already among the worst scoring teams in the league. And I think he's flying on a wing & prayer that Couts & Hayes are healthy. Write off Ellis as damaged goods, never to play in this city again. Now Farabee could miss a couple months. JVR was their leading scorer, which isn't saying much. He's another defensive liability & a huge salary cap hit problem. Fletcher resigned Risto for another 5 yrs at a big cap hit & he's physical, yes, but a penalty just waiting to happen. Still no backup goalie, their prized rookie is detained in Russia for mandatory military service. Promising AHL'ers Allison, Brink, Frost, Lazcarski, Desnoyers, Forester have all had re-curring injury histories so who knows what their available statuses might be. Can you say "tanking" ?

  2. Jason is and always has been a Flyers apologist and kisses the asses of management at every chance. Flyers daily is brutal and the pandering/excuses from Myrtetus make it impossible to listen to. This franchise is an absolute joke with the most incompetent GM in the NHL. There is no doubt this era under Fletcher is the lowest point the once proud organization has ever been. Ellis, Ristolainen, JVR, Tony D, and Hayes all have horrendous contracts, The prospect pool is dog shit, There isnt a single star on the roster now that Giroux is gone. Fletcher gives away important draft picks to overpay Risto and TDA, and can't make the cap space for actual deference makers like Debrincat or Gaudreau. This team has no NHL backup for when Carter Hart gets hurt again this season. Couturier and Farabee are both coming off back/spinal surgery and Bobby Brink just had major hip surgery. Fcking pathetic. FInishing dead last, winning the lottery and drafting Connor Bedard should be the only goal for this upcoming season.

  3. I'm sorry, I just have to say… we can't have 29 year olds on 7 year contracts in Philly like Johnny Gaudreau.

No, we can only have 30 year olds on 7 year contracts when they're coming off of back surgery (Sean Coutorier) and have never in their lives even dreamed of being nearly as good as Johnny Gaudreau.

Yes, I understand Fletcher extended him before last season.

But the team sucked then too, and Giroux wasn't getting any younger.

He could have started the rebuild then and didn't.

Now he's talking about "evaluation years" and "maybe we'll be more competitive" when, if we are competitive, you know what we'll end up missing???

    Oh, yeah.

    Johnny fucking Gaudreau.

"Foundation of the house" my ass. If the foundation is so damn bad, then why is Coutorier and Provorov and Konecny still here??? They're the rotten foundation!

"Oh well their value is at its lowest."

Of course it is, they suck. As you just implied by saying the foundation is rotted.

"No, no, no, no! They're gonna get better under Torts!"

Oh, so we'll be a better hockey team but not nearly as good as we would have been with a Top-10 player in the league? Great. That makes me feel WONDERFUL

Pick a damn direction. Nobody is pissed off because "the expectations weren't managed well"

No, people are pissed off because this team has no hopes of winning and little hopes of getting a Top-5 pick.

Elite talent is not a damn sports car. It is the foundation of every single winning team.

If you have no plans of getting it, then you have no plans at all.
