Beginning and end of the game were the worst we’ve played since pre-streak. Lots of very lazy and silly mistakes led to the loss. But that being said, getting a point and not playing a great game is not something we’d have happen often over the past few years.

  2. BigBusiness1532

Yuck. Very sloppy play at the end there. But I think this will be another game that will give them some ammunition to come out swinging on Saturday. A lot of guys in the room are gonna be pissed at themselves after this one, and are gonna be chomping at the bit to redeem themselves next game. LGD.

  3. Johnborkowski

It sucks because it’s a game we could have definitely won, but we got a point out of it. Learn from it and move on.

  4. gleeson630

I hate saying things like this but it’s like they assumed they were gonna win. We’re a team that’s has to play our game and play hard all game. Playing that Powerplay like that set the tone for OT.

Terrible play by Shara in OT. We were gonna lose a fair game soon but we reverted back to last year there.

  5. Silver lining: top the the league and pulling away form Vegas.

  6. NYDevilsFan

Can’t win em all. Devils showed fight again being down 2-0. Saros stole a couple of goals. Not a fan of being that passive on the PP. Sharangovich had a bad OT.

  7. AGOEsLois

Okay some people acting like the sky is falling lol, calm down. Some sloppy errors, they need shit like this to learn from.

  8. nubmonk

Can’t win em all… But we probably should have won this one

  9. SuperCorgi1

We have lived by our forecheck all season. Who thinks it’s a good idea to play defensively and let them come to us. Play it in their zone

  10. specifichero101

Shitty loss. That one doesn’t feel good even with the point. Need to have a more complete showing next game. No more early deficits or late goals.

  11. gamer_cube

Oh darn now they’re only 14 games over .500

  12. antnythr

I wasn’t happy with them just passing the puck around and playing keep away on that last power play.

  13. thebongofamandabynes

At least the loss to the Leafs felt like a win. This shit tho…

  14. tECHOknology

Nashville didn’t deserve that shit. Agreed why kill your own momentum on the PP as an offensive minded team and hand the other team momentum. 8 fucking seconds. So lucky.

  15. VindictiveRakk

just hope they learn from this. don’t stop playing because this is what happens. i think we all felt it coming when we saw that mark recchi ass powerplay. like i’m sorry, you’re really *that* scared of giving up a shorty? the top team in the NHL? absolute nonsense. I understand being conservative in that situation, don’t make risky passes and all that, but this team simply does not work by shutting down and turtling.

  16. A few sloppy thirds in a row, but I much prefer to be punished for it here than the Rags game. Hopefully it’s a reminder that they can’t just fuck around and continue to win every game. Only thing that truly bums me out here is that the “undefeated when Nico scores” streak is dead.

  17. NJDevils30

Myriad of errors at the end.

Sharangovich trying to force his way through a guy even though OT is all about possession and open ice.

Pass back to no one in the defensive zone

V-Tech playing the puck to where he did

All 3 Devils moving in on 1 player and not covering either of the other 2

Couldn’t have drawn up a worse OT if they tried

Can’t dwell on it just have to bounce back

  18. kidkosher

Devils still rule. Sad it happened, happy we still earning points to the ploffs

  19. refyousuck

Sucks we lost but at least we got a point and slide into 1st place in the NHL.

    I’d say we’re doing OK.

  20. njdevils901

Honestly they deserved to lose, and they needed a loss to put their shit straight. They can’t keep winning games playing that way, they need to tighten up their structure

  21. jflynn53

Ok so like can we go back to that Nico breakaway, does anyone have a replay of that, I cannot for the life of me understand how from completely behind he was tied up and it was legal. Never saw any replay thought so I could be wrong.

  22. septimus29

First loss this year where it was close and we have no one to blame. I don’t miss this feeling

  23. ChannelShot7061

Can you believe we tolerated like 45-50+ losses a year? I’ve become accustomed to winning LOL and it’s only happened 4 times this year.

  24. eburton555

Still a wagon. Let’s fuckin go devils

  25. Devilslegion

Probably lost that game because of decision making and consistency. It’ll happen with young teams and is to be expected a couple times. We got a learning lesson at half price so don’t let it ruin your night! Onto Philthy Saturday for a 6-2 win

  26. opposite_of_hotcakes

Honestly, good for the Preds. That was a great game

  27. scrapcats

I’ve been watching a livestream concert. Did our guys put up a good fight tonight?

  28. herrhonka

Awesome, you decide to lose last minute and be the only loss on my 700$ parlay. Thanks Devils, much love!

  29. KovalSNIPE17

These games happen and they know how sloppy that was.

Honestly if Yegor didn’t try to do to much in the beginning of OT while entering the offensive zone, we probably wouldn’t have lost possession.

They’ve experienced this enough in the past to learn from it. Move on and execute next game.

  30. mrSeven3Two

Boys got lazy. Acting like they should be given a W instead of going and earning it

  31. InstructionNo3616

Biggest development is bahl has replaced smith. That’s huge.

  32. DrBrule696

I’ll be at Wells Fargo Saturday for the second time this season, but this time without my Devils gear. Their fans can’t take friendly jabs and they also can’t handle their beer/liquor. A few bad experiences now that I never did or said anything to provoke

  33. rockthered24

Man there are some bad tales here.

The devils completely outplayed them. Saros was great and the devils lost concentration a few times. Can’t be having the first shift we had because you can’t expect to overcome that but Jesus.

The team is 19-4-1. Second best record (points % wise) in the league. Get a grip.

  34. vensamape

Devils are still the better team. You win some and lose some. Better than a blow out.

Now lets have the Patriots lose.

  35. Chico-_-

eh, the late collapse sucks but since they were 19-4 coming into this game I am incapable of being upset lol

  36. Robinho999

you can blame that L on me literally as soon as i tuned in they scored the tying goal

  37. TheDopestTrip

Hynes is still beating us. That’s the worst part about this loss.

  38. xxfatpigxx

Loss sucks, but learn from it and be ready to get revenge back in Nashville on 1/26 (also because I spent up to get nice seats and I’d like to see my Devils win please).

Also weird stat continues where Nashville hasn’t lost in New Jersey since March 2015.

  39. Mgnyc11

The positive is that we used to have 4-5 of these kind of losses a month and this is our 1st one this season. I think last year we had like 3 in week.
