@Devils du New Jersey

They coulda called 1 or 2 of those the other way based on previous incidents where we’ve seen it go the other way against us. Mix black and white and you get grey areas i guess.

I think if that third disallowed goal happened first, they would’ve called one of the others differently. But so it goes. Rules are up to the refs perspective and discretion and are somewhat fluid therefore.

We need to convert on more PPs and we need stronger first periods. Great fight until the end though!

  2. I was at the game sitting in the 3rd row behind the Toronto’s goal in 1st and 3rd . I would have thrown something on the ice if not the high net . There’s no shame in losing but in the fair fight . Officials made it super unfair last night .

  3. I was also sitting right behind the leafs bench. Deffinately got wild. One of the leafs coaches started pointing at people and telling security to kick them out. Rat..

  4. The first 2 goals could go either way and one of them should have went our way but I respectfully disagree the 3rd goal was definitely no goal. There was a kicking motion and it went in. You cannot score a goal with your skate it's very clear in the rule 49.2 even if it deflects to any player. Now I do agree that the rule should be modified since the NHL wants more scoring but the 3rd disallowed goal was the most correct out of the 3. I'm not even mad. Devils played great but need to work on their power play and Murray did a fantastic job at net otherwise this would have been very one sided. Let's beat Buffalo and try again for 14.

  5. At least now i have a definitive team to root against, cant wait to see the Leafs not make it through the first round again

  6. What a horrible way to lose the streak. But it's over now. Happy Thanksgiving dude! Let's go devils!!!

  7. It is what it is. The run was euphoric. I was more impressed with how the team played in light of all the reversed goals. Time for the team to start a new Wagon. LGD! Happy Thanksgiving Joe!!!

  8. I'm more fan than ever, the team is stepping up, they are coming to play every game, to fight for every win, I'm so happy for present and future. Of course we need to work in details, the important thing is rebuild is over.
PD: I'm ok with first one disallowed but other two I have a lot of doubts

  9. You should redo the video citing the actual rules versus just your subjective opinion.

Goal 1 69.3 If an attacking player initiates contact with a goalkeeper, incidental or otherwise, while the goalkeeper is in his goal crease, and a goal is scored, the goal will be disallowed. – a bit soft, and sucks that it happened, but a good call.

Goal 2 69.4 Contact Outside the Goal Crease – If an attacking player initiates any contact with a goalkeeper, other than incidental contact, while the goalkeeper is outside his goal crease, and a goal is scored, the goal will be disallowed. – Maybe somewhat incidental, but Tatar made no effort to get out of the way and saw the position of the goalie so…good call.

Goal 3 49.2 "A goal cannot be scored by an attacking player who kicks a puck that deflects into the net off any player, goalkeeper or official." – good call

  10. It was bound to happen. The Devils outplayed them the last two periods. Just bad breaks. Dust it off and start again against the Sabres.

  11. Ended the streak, in the most corrupt way possible. The skates DEFINITELY didn’t touch, and if they did, it’s incidental contact and the rule states that the goal will be allowed. Murray was good, but the NHL are the guys who “stole” this game for Toronto.

  12. I agree with everything you’re saying but I do not know if I’ve seen a kicked puck count after going off the defending team?

  13. im willing to bet this would never happen to the Leafs in Scotiabank Arena XD

  14. Wonder if it was Draftkings, Caesars, Fanduel or MGM that bought off the refs…………….

  15. Unfortunate, but I always thought the refs or a blowout would kill the streak. Let’s go into Buffalo tomorrow and start a new streak!

  16. I really don’t like the idea that New Jersey was robbed of the win. That was definitely not the case. 2 of the 3 goals that were called back were extremely obvious callbacks. One of them was rather soft. So best case they make it to overtime.
That all said and despite the goals called back I thought they were the better team that night.

  17. It was a tough way to see the streak end my friend. You guys have a heck of a good team now, and I think they're going to be a team to be proud of for a long time.

  18. Buffalo destroyed their previous 2 opponents (1 of them was against Montreal, but still). It will be tough for the Devils tomorrow night.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

  19. Yeah I'm pissed off at the 3 goals called back. One we might have gotten away with, but time to move on. I lost all respect for Tavares when he speared Zidlicky years ago. Anytime he or Murray take a puck to the face they can thank karma. I'm more worried that Fitzgerald is going to try to low ball Bratt… AGAIN. He said some bs to the news recently about dealing with his agent and trying to get him to look at the big picture and the organization and so forth. What he's trying to do is give a guy that could easily get 7 to 8 million a year on a very long term deal and try to get him to sign for 5. I was saying when he low balled him for this year that Bratt owed nothing to the NJD after that and he easily could go play anywhere else for big bucks. With him on the team, there is a very special chemistry happening right now… but to loose 10 million or more on the biggest long term contract of a career because a GM thinks he lowballed him once and he can lowball him again is something I wouldn't do.

  20. Agree the goal by Nathan bastin and Eric haula should have counted. I don't blame the fans being irate but they should have not thrown things on the ice flyer fans do that

  21. I didn't catch this one live, I was very frustrated as I'm sure all devils fans … but then I remembered we just went on a streak that would acount for roughly 33% of our win totals the previous years. I am writing after the Buffalo game though, happy the team bounced back. The speed of this team makes it easy to root for, I hope these guys can maintain this… bad for my sleeping pattern though.

  22. If you are going to have a show on hockey you should know if you kick the puck off an opposing player it doesn't count ..it has to hit his stick..they don't want kicking motions near the net as serious injuries can occur ..this was the easiest to wave off..otherwise you were mostly impartial and I enjoyed your post ..Devils are looking solid
