My Guess were gonna get another forward tomorrow probably not Kapanen but his name is on the air so it's a maybe but I think it's either Zack MacEwen or Sam Lafferty.
Kassian is also way way too expensive. He's not a league minimum player and, as you said, I think it's what you think, bottom six, low cost. Trick will be who goes and who stays. Great vid as always. Take care all.
With no disrespect to anyone we do need to get a lot tougher Michael McCracken from Nashville Is a good bet or Ross Johnston ??.. we cant have a 9.25 million dollar defensemen fighting .. i like McCracken he’s big and TOUGH and cheap !!! Less than a Million
Skinner has been #1 from the 3rd week on. Trade coming? I'd hope so. This team is not likely to even make the playoffs. If they have the typical rancid Dec like last year.. Kiss it goodbye. So ya, I'd bet Ken has been working the phones for at least 2 weeks now. Nm Kassian back, try to get Koskinen Back)) They should have never let him go.
At this point, the Oilers may have to do something fairly drastic. A lot of insiders and fans had the team finishing in the Top 3 in the Pacific, along with Vegas and Calgary. But based on what we have seen so far, both Campbell of the Oilers and Markstrom of the Flames are dealing with something on the mental side, as Skinner and Vladar are carrying more of the work load than they probably should. Meanwhile, Seattle has come out of nowhere to take one of the Top 3 spots in the division, and LA is keeping pace with last season's finish to round out the Top 3, with Vegas back to the form they are familiar with.
I don’t think we have a choice with Campbell. That contract means he is ours. We do have choices with Skinner and the other goalies. Skinner is doing great, but an entire season being the main goalie I think is too much. I think like you said get Campbell away from Edmonton and see if he can get it together. Bring up the other young goalie who is doing well right now and maybe between him and Skinner they can keep a few goals out of the net. Of course, the rest of the team has to improve too. I guess we have to keep the faith.
As old goalie Cambell having no to little confidence requires coaching to help in regaining his confidence and get back to basic’s. He looks small when he’s on his knees and definitely needs to control rebounds. The entire D needs to tuff in up and stop giving up that GD blue line! They definitely need to get some one bigger then a high school boy!! ( Ryan, Shore, Janmark, Hopkins, Yamamoto etc) It’s still right there for the picking just get grinding and bloody some one’s nose!!
1—"Kassian not really doing his job"….To be fair Kassian had 2 broken hands and 2 concussion's in the last couple of years. That will slow down most guys who are over 30…..That said, he was the ONLY one that would drop the gloves AND he could skate well enough to kill penalties and did not look completely out of place in the top 6….Not even Jess can make that claim.
2—Is Smitty still and option? He has not officially retired yet. The Oilers have him inder contract, he is supposedly healing on LTIR…….Him missing half the season, only to come back would be nothing new. He did that the last 2 years.
3–Regarding Soupy's mental state. He seems like a nice guy. Mr.Positive with other's good team guy…..BUT….with Toronto he seemed like he was about to have a mental breakdown after every loss and needed a group hug and therapy after every loss. It seems to be the same thing here. Is THAT the guy that will take you to a Stanley Cup???….If not why keep him?
4—Couldn't help but notice L.A Kings just put Cal Pedersen on waivers. Even though he just signed a new $5 million a year contract for 2 years. Pedersen has struggled this year.But he is 28 and only under contract for 2 years. Campbell just turned 31 and has 5 years at that term. We know that Soupy's most success came as an L.A King playing with Johnny Quick. Any chance, if Holland sweeten's the pot L.A maybe makes that move? Cut some losses?

Oilers offered a 4th to NYR for reaves but they would have to keep 50% of his contract and they didn’t want to do that and traded him to Min for a 5th and heard the trade is Macewun for a 4th

I hope the oilers can get a defenceman soon. Upgrading the blue line is important, given how it hasn't been that good this season so far.
Campbell is costing us games. It's been frustrating. I can't believe I thought we signed a solid goalie.
Jack Cambell ranks last in the league in SV% and GAA. .872 and 4.12. No team wins with this guy in the net.
It’s not just Campbell no but he’s been awful. Doesn’t even look like an NHL goalie. I think you have to consider sending him down.
If the guy hasn’t figured out how to handle the game mentally by now then maybe he isn’t meant for the show. Simple as that.

fire the Goalie coach and the Goalie scout already, any scout that pushed for us to get campbell should be fired

Jack Lemon soup Campbell is already my least favorite Oiler. And I pretty much like the whole team
I think Campbell could benefit from a conditioning stint down in the AHL and we see how good rodrigue can play in the nhl
