  1. He played like a first overall …he’s figuring things and really has all the tools at 18 to grow into something really special! (Keep him with Monahan till he gets traded … 🙂)

  2. Honestly he is way farther along then I expected. He's 18, a child playing with fully grown veterans and looking good. I can't wait to see his game grow in the next 5 to 10 years 😍

  3. It was a nice goal. Theres a few habs that would have shot straight at the defender(gally, armia, dadonov)

  4. For first Slafkovský pass to Break out for Monahan but after he must fix Monahan faill with goal …. U play too short video from that situation.

  5. Slaf is doing a lot of the small things right. He’s slowly getting better. Finally get got paired up with 2 solid NHL players. Monahan and Anderson are sick line mates to have.

  6. Slaf played with Caufield and Suzuki only 1 game in pre-season. I'm pretty sure they'll try him with them again later in the season, when he'll have even more experience and confidence.

  7. It was just a question of time before Juraj would play with more productive line mates. Because they are rebuilding and there's very little expectations from fans, they don't have to rush him. But since day one, I've seen Juraj make some nice plays which ended up nowhere because of his line mates.

Take a minute and go on youtube and look at every goal scored by Kirby his first season with Chicago. He was on the 4th line every single one of his goals. And from what I can tell, that didn't change much the whole time he played there. Maybe he graduated to the 3rd line. Chicago fans, please feel free to chime in. Dylan Strome (who is also a 6'3" 3rd overall pick and was 4 years older) and Johnathan Toews were the top 2 centers there. The Canadiens picked up Dach because they predicted he didn't get a fair chance to play with good players in Chicago. I don't see why the Habs would not give Juraj his fair chance at one point like they did last night.

The Canadiens are rebuilding at team. Not building a team. There are contracts that will either expire or get traded before next summer. They will find Juraj more productive players to give him a chance to succeed when they can free up space. Until then, he's get opportunities like this game.

  8. Evans and Pezzetta are really bad, Slafkovsky has no chance to flourish amongst them, especially Pezzetta, Evans is good at least on PKs but these 2 have no offensive talent at all, they cant pass, they cant shoot, the amount of times Slaf passed either to Evans or Pezzetta into an empty net shot and they either missed the puck or the goal was huge, he should stay on the second line.

  10. Remember when Crosby had 102 pts at 18 (rookie year) and nearly double the 2nd most points on a still-awful Penguins club?

Spoiled us all. We hear about these incredible players who’ll likely go 1st overall and they score…14 pts in 67 games, etc.

  11. Hard to believe you said this was his best game? A goal on an empty net and 1 hit from the 231 lb. Slav. This game was an absolute embarrassment for the whole team except for the goalie Allen. This guy stands on his head and gets nothing. It should have been 5 or 6 nothing. That is what a career game looks like.

  12. Are we going to start calling him SlafWOWski now? (JK) Happy for the kid to get top 6 minutes. He looked good.
Makstrom cost the flames this game.

  13. I sure hope that they Monaghan a good contract. What a line. Size and speed. The fourth line was for defensive purposes.

  14. I have a gut feeling that Monaghan is signed. Talk to the doctors and give a 3 years 7.5 million three year contract as an opining gambit.

  15. Martin Saint-Louis has a plan based on observation and experience. Let Slaf discover the NHL and have him take in the teachings and learn on the 4th line. Now start using him on the 2nd wave of the PP. Now move him to the 2nd line. Now send him to experience the WJC (coming). It's good.
