For the love of god!!! Why is everyone trying to trade the first round pick????? Stop it!!

  2. "JT is very prideful and wants to stay in Toronto" …. well, which player is not prideful? Right, all of them are, so it is a moot point. Should never have signed him in the first place and need to move him now at all costs. Cap hit vs. contribution is big negative – probably need to retain $3-4 Mil and throw in a sweetener to get anything of value back.

  3. Jt will never yield the value that Sabres received for Eichel, trust me. Not even close. Might get a 2nd/3rd liner and a mid-prospect and 2nd round pick, and Leafs still might have to retain a portion.

  4. Which Core Player would I trade. Firsts lets define the Core: 1) Mathews 2) Marner 3) Reilly 4) Tavares 5) Nylander …. is 6) Muzzin???? Who has the most Value—- In order of VALUE 1) Mathews 2) Reilly 3) Marner 4) Nylander 5) Tavares The obvious answer to the question is Nylander or Tavares because you are not trading the other 3…… Of Tavares and Nylander you have to say Nylander Contract is the most attractive. You cannot move Tavares without retaining a significant amount of Contract….. The obvious answer is Nylander……… The one I want to trade is Tavares

  5. Tavaras. Because you knuckleheads signed him what 3/4 years ago. All non leaf fans knew it would be nothing more than good regular seasons and first round exits. You guys celebrated like you won the cup.( I work with 4 leaf fans ) imagine your team without JT but with a 5 million dollar dman. A 3/4 million dollar dman and a 2.5/3 million dollar back up. Your team would have won the cup this year if you didn't sign him.

  6. I love the WAY you guys say…. "Want to know how good a player you can get at 57….. You could get "MATHEW KNIES" and look how good he is. Wait Wait Wait….. You do not even know how good Mathew Knies is???? He is a BIRD in the bush not a bird in the hand. Next …. if the Leafs were great at scouting second Round Picks then you would not have your GM saying we NEED the players on the farm to deliver….

C'mon guys there is Homer and then REAL HOMER takes…. Wink … Love ya…. Hope i win the Jersey!!!!

  7. lol mike thinks toronto is still in the playoffs, the leafs were a warm up for tampa , to believe toronto is anything but fools gold can only mean youre a fool

  8. knies isnt in the nhl so stop, dubas hasnt made1 good draft pick yet , all the players you mentioned are on other teams, none on toronto , they keep looking for dmen every year and yet pick a russiian who will never play over braden schneider

  9. Better question is who should the Leafs trade FOR. I don't know why Leafs fans seam to think that SUBTRACTING a player will fix the team.

  10. It’s funny how people want Tavares gone and nylander to stay. Nylander has the most trade value. Tavares at his age still had almost as many points as Nylander and had revolving wingers this season. JT battles every shift, Nylander is a lazy player who won’t go in the corner. Everyone saw this with their own eyes in the playoffs. I don’t care how many points he gets. Trade for an impact 2nd line centre and move Tavares to left wing

  11. If I were Dubus I would try make these trades: William Nylander for Josh Anderson and also try getting JT Miller And Luke Schenn for Kerfoot, Muzzin and a pick or prospect. Mrazek, Simmonds and Clifford would also be moved or sent to Robidas Island.
I would go after Ville Husso for a starting goaltender. I would re-sign Mikheyev, Blackwell, Lyubushkin, Case and Engvall. The lineup would look like this:

    Bunting- Matthews- Marner
    Miller-Tavares- Robertson
    Mikheyev- Kampf- Anderson
    Case- Engvall- Blackwell

    Reilly-Lyubushkin
    Giordano-Brodie
    Sandin- Schenn (Liljegren)

    Husso- Kallgren

The Leafs are stuck with Tavares so moving Nylander is the only option and trading him for Anderson would improve this team hand over fist. Anderson plays the type of hockey the Leafs need for a Stanley Cup run. If the Leafs could get Miller and Schenn from Vancouver it would also be a good move because it replaces Nylander's offensive output and adds that toughness to the defense that the Leafs are lacking overall. Moving an injury prone Muzzin makes sense and Schenn's physical play would make other teams think twice on the rush.
The Leafs need Mikheyev's speed and watching him walk away would be complete nonsense in this coming off season. Give him a 2 year deal, so if the Leafs don't win a cup by Matthews' contract year that salary can be applied to a Matthews' re-signing.
Mikheyev and Engvall are also good penalty killers and forecheckers so that asset would remain if they are re-signed. Bumping Miller and or Anderson onto the first powerplay would give the Leafs a different look and could be a real problem for the opponent, especially come playoff time. The Tavares situation needs to be looked at more closely if the Leafs cannot win the cup next year. The captaincy needs to go to Matthews. He is the superstar on this team. Toronto needs to do everything to win now and also ensure that Matthews is a lifelong Leaf.

  12. Some thoughts, outside of Durzi who is on the third pair of on mediocre LA team, none of Dubas's late round selections have turn into real NHL talent. Hunter wanted to use the pick Dubas pissed away for Dermott and Bracco to draft Konecny. Konecny was a guy who could have made a difference in the series with the Bolts.

Tavares left 21 million dollars on the table to be a Leaf. Going to him and asking him to wave his NMC would be a huge mistake. Outside of objections you raise, the message it would send to Matthews is that there in no need to show the Leafs any loyalty because the team doesn't show loyalty to its players.

The Leafs have been abysmal without Marner, they depend on him for virtually everything. He led the team in ice time in the playoffs. Not forwards, all skaters. The cap hit is big but the roles he fills would be very hard to replace. Marner has been better than Eichel by a pretty significant margin.

    Matthews, sure for McDavid.

This is Nylander in the playoffs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHV5gWyu0Js Pretty clear which guy needs to go.

  13. Vasilesky and the lghtning didnt look elite in game 2 of the final against the Avs. They got crushed.
Buyout Mrazek and keep the first round pick. The leafs are one of the wealthiest teams in the league.
If they can get out of JTs 11M a year contract then they need to do it. He is not Austin Mathews. He is barely Willy Nylander.
They will not get out of the first round untill they can deal with his cap hit and bring in the players that they need.
With the young d men moving up they can move Jake Muzzins contract.
It sounds like Josh Anderson is available from Montreal. He would add a lot of grit in the top 6.
I'm watching this 6 days after the video was uploaded.
    Greetings from South Floida.
