@Jets de Winnipeg

  1. I actually don’t blame the refs for ruling for the home team after what happened in jersey im sure it enters their minds now!!

  2. If they’re so concerned about safety play should be called as soon as a goalie looses his mask. If intentionally should be a minor penalty.

  3. Initially, you can view the Sars Capt literally elbow/check the goaltender's helmet right off by wedging the goalie's head against the side of the net, in this particular case Mr. Hellebuyck did not "lose" his helmet it was physically wrenched from his head and even if there is not blood and the goaltender might have been trying "to sell it", the belligerent Dallas player negates the goal with his obvious goaltender interference.

Now unless you are going to argue that Mr. Hellebuyck should have lept back up and played without his helmet and maybe the official would have blown the play dead, I would counter with…not happening.

At times the officiating in the NHL is maddening, it does enrage us all from time to time, do not get me started on the 1999 "no goal" rule/not rule but I digress.

The analogy I use is soft ice, both teams have to skate on it, and both teams have to endure NHL officiating, imho.

I appreciate the Coyotes history, when I went to an Alice Cooper concert years back he sported a half Phoenix half Buffalo NHL sweater, pretty sweet.

    Thanks for posting.

  4. Given Morrisey hits the forward into his own goalie the rules are pretty clear that that's a good goal.

For it to be goalie interference you cannot hit a guy into your own tendy. (0:47) Where's Benn suppose to go here when he's boxed in by both goalie and defender? (0:53)

  5. honestly i think they should have blown the play dead if the guy is literately just laying there.. but also the majority of the dmg on this play was done by morrisy so its kind of a fuck around and find out moment. maybe one day players will learn not to hit people into their goalies.

  6. It was a bad goal tender, I quit watching hockey when Roger's fired Don Cherry, we no longer have men in the sport! A good goal tender wouldn't take a dive because he got bumped and lost his lid, he'd get up, man up and risk taking that puck in the teeth! I'm a Canadian but I think this was a great goal!

  7. If helle would have got up and tried to keep playing they would have blown the play down. But if he’s flat out on the ice it’s all good.

  8. not even close to a good goal, looks more like intent to injure if you open your eyes and see how it's an elbow/ shoulder to the head….faakk sakes refs

  9. That should have been called No Goal.
    Ref made a bad call.
I hope you like reffing in the minors next year.

  10. I know that the Dallas player was pushed into the goalie but it should not have been a goal

  11. Yeah it’s a good goal Benn was pushed into hellybyuck no interference. The mask comes off but the stars had possession of the puck and there was an immediate and impending scoring chance. As per the rules it’s a good goal but in doing so it brings up the conversation if the rule should be changed.

  12. Leaf fans are going to say no goal to save face vs the devils. We all know Murray got away x3 freebies.

  13. As a Dallas fan, Benn was pushed into him and it shouldn't be blown dead if there's an immediate scoring chance. But it was pass, pass, shot after 3-4 seconds. Not an immediate scoring chance and should've been blown dead.

  14. It's all about who possesses the puck. If the Jets gain possession the play is dead immediately, but the Stars kept possession the entire time. A similar play happened with Dallas against the Blues a couple years ago where Ben Bishop went down with an injury that still resulted in a goal. You can dislike the rule from a safety perspective, but you also can't allow the possibility of a flop disallowing a goal.

  15. I’m like 5 days late to seeing this but there are so many red flags here, mainly that the play didn’t get blown down immediately after he lost his helmet.

  16. sorry but that was a good goal plain and simple. Jet D knocks the stars F into his own Goalie.
Goalie made a meal of it, fell on the floor like a football player and played for the stoppage which wasnt given.
