  1. Who cares about 3×3 unless we are in wildcard territory. No team in the East is going to be an easy opponent home ice or not.

  2. The goalies have largely be hung out to dry in OT. I put it on the players not playing well in the extra frame. They need to be better.

  3. The OT problem is poor coaching of talented players – the Leaf coach has to teach his players in OT not to make risky passes. This one is all on poor coaching – are they not like 1 of 8? Where is the Leaf GM – and why hasn’t he addressed this coaching issue? Even if they are Wedding Party or Fishing Buddies – they still get paid to do their jobs!

  4. Yes true some comments here say thank goodness no 3 on 3 in playoffs but you know that since the AM MM era the Leafs in the playoffs OT ( proper hockey with all players playing ) is very bad also. 3-7. Yep this team cannot handle the pressure packed situations ( 6 years we have been waiting for them to win just 1 round, let alone a true Cup run. A nice club in the regular season these past 6 seasons plus but if the Leafs lay an egg in a game there is always another game to redeem themselves but not in a game 7. And another fact since the hard salary cap the Leafs have never won a playoff series. All the various management clearly have never figured this out !!

  5. How do you guys not know this team is always gonna be s**t? Always have been, always will. Especially now with all those ridiculous team breaking contracts.

  6. It's not necessarily about the standings it's about what it does to them mentally …they lost

  7. hate how our whole fan base gives playesr crap then wen the good praise the lord u wanted to trade treat marner like crap but cant yalk about mayhews BS

  8. Ya Matthews turned it over; got back and played a defensive position, but Murray let it a complete muffin. Kypreos and sam having a long day of nothing and over thinking something Murray shouldve had. Talked about Matthews too much, no wonder people hate Sportsnet and the SportsMedia in General.

  9. If the Leafs want inspiration: the year Montreal went to the FInal, they started something like 0-8 in overtime.

  10. Shootouts, 3 on 3, and a professional league rewarding losing. This is the NHL and it’s absolute garbage. No team should ever be getting a pt for losing in overtime. I never watch games that go to the modern day OT because this isn’t hockey; it’s shinny. And professionals are playing shinny to determine hockey games. Also by rewarding losing you’re creating a false sense of parity in this league. And yes I 100% agree with Kyper that thank holy F that at least this gimmick doesn’t factor when the real hockey matters in the playoffs. If there could be a compromise to the modern day OT in the regular season, and to appease us traditionalists, I’d say go to 4 on 4 10 min OT. 2 or 3 pts for a win, 0 pts for a loss, and if the game happens to end in a tie, so be it; 1 pt each. NO SHOOT OUTS. NO LOSER PTS FOR F SAKES!
