Oilers are in a difficult situation with Soup. He is bad enough that you can't trade him but you are paying him too much to send him down.! Healthy scratch for a long time.

we leafs fan told you expect an 8.90 SV% and now look, we had to do some ole bullshit to make him look good, his stats were so inflated in November 2021 that is why he ended with a 9.14 at the end of the season with us, he normally gave around an 8.90 with our good defense.

Campbell looks very small in net sometimes, history repeats itself with oilers free agent goaltenders. Are we the new philly? Where goaltending dreams come to die?..
Well here comes the December slump! Campbell can’t stop a beach ball and the defence is leaking like the titanic, Jan 1 this team will be way out of the playoffs.
The nhl schedule is a joke some teams plays back to back and some teams are almost a week off

OK…DO ""NOT"" Give up Faith in Campbell…The Leafs Had a Goalie That i wanted on my Team Soooooo Baaaad … And that's JACK. I know what he is capable of! I mean…I witnessed Campell STEAL so many games "REALLY" HE WILL COME THROUGH…Noone feels any worse for his slump than Campbell himself. He is WELL AWARE, and needs OILER FANS to BELIEVE in him .. I DO. Here is my Prediction now……Oilers Squeek into the Playoffs, and Mr.Jack Campbell PROVES his worth. And all is forgiven! Hey….If a goalie is going to slump…The BEST time is now! That will just make him that much better in Post Season…HE WILL MAKE THE GAMES 1'st STAR. KEEP THE FAITH BOYS.
They could of won this game, shooting the puck instead of passing all the time might of help. Wish I could feel good about the goal tending

Can't lose this season. He got the contract, an American team would take him. I'm pretty sure Holland has been looking, seeking. Seems like the other teams they've played have the better goalie

13-11……… 28-29th ranked defense….. Not a very good team. w/out Kane… the GM needs to sign a warm body…hopefully decent at hockey.
I don't see how anyone thought that Jack Campbell was an NHL goalie. I haven't seen any evidence so far.

I am pretty sure the Oilers would like to take the NHL scheduler out to the wood shed, but scheduling aside there are far more troubling things with this team. Too many players dressed who should really be in the AHL, terrible defensive structure and execution, below average goaltending, some terrible player contracts ( but most teams have these ). Can you imagine how bad this team would be if we didn't have two of the best players in the world!

The negativity was bad in the last victory but seems to double down in a loss in both the cult of hockey presentation and the commentary. The faithful? Ha!
Jack's head is not right. This entire year might be a mental right off for Jack. He's struggling with some demons, and only he knows what they are or what it is. It's almost like he cares too much, but has no idea how to calm down and get this seemingly all consuming "care too much thing" under control. Is he feeling guilty with the massive contract he got because in his mind he feels he's not worthy of the money? Many people – pro athlete or not, deeply struggle with self worth issues. Jack may need to take some time off and see a sports psychologist. Maybe he seeing one now. If he is, he needs to switch therapists. Jack's presence in net is eerily similar to stage fright, terrifying and paralyzed with fear. Combine that with whatever other issues are going on with Jack, Woodcroft and Holland may be fooling themselves that they can count on Jack to help get the Oilers into the playoffs.
With bad goaltending it is impossible to accurately evaluate any other aspect of your game.
Bad goaltending destroys everything.

The "faithful" are being tested… This is not a playoff team with Campy as he is.
Not to let Soup off the hook but it doesn't matter who you put in net…. be it Price, Vasilevsky, Ottinger, all of them will look pretty ordinary with this defense! Until we admit this defense "collectively" is AHL at best and DO something about it! we will watch this same scenario play out over and over and over AGAIN! The D core needs "radical and fundamental" changes…If we want to improve it we need to give up something in order to get something! I would not hesitate to trade PLRV and Bouchard for a couple quality defensemen. Some have talked about Soucy. Montreal seems to have an abundance of defensemen, is Parayko available? The time is NOW! We cant wait for players to develope their game!

why is campbell getting all these boo-hoo considerations on his play? pro athletics and sports commentary has softened so much. just because he is a nice person doesn't take away that he is paid to do his job! if campbell can't, get someone who has the ability to do it! stop all this garbage and coddling these high paid athletes! the rest of the world doesn't get guaranteed contracts to keep their employment…do your job, or you are fired! 72nd save percentage. 72nd goals against average. how do the oilers not have more than 1 stanley cup with #1 mcdavid, #2 draisaityl best hocky players on the planet?
After hearing markstroms post game last night, it’s obvious that the mental aspect of the position wears on these guys. On top of that, our fan base is absolutely brutal.

You forgot to mention on the 4th goal not only was there a horrible line change but Holloway was skating back up the middle of the ice and coasted once he hit his blueline, not even noticing Steele wide open to his right. If he picks him up on his way back or even just keeps skating he's in position to stop the pass. Lot of mistakes on that goal.
Bruce could not say it better. Edmonton Oilers Character Traits. 1. Loose to teams beneath them in the standings, 2. Slow starts leading to "chasing the game", this saying could be a trait all unto itself, 3. Lose to teams playing on a back to back nights, 4. They only play a system when they feel like it, but this relates to point 2, 5. They will always lose if a goalie is playing their first NHL game and he could come from Jr. C same result, 6. Inconsistent play world beaters one night and the next could not beat an AHL team no middle ground with these guys. That's all for now, but I know there are more traits with this team. What say you
Sadly, panic has entered Soup’s game, and that’s a goaltender killer. Watching how poised Skinner has been despite his lack of experience is a stark contrast to what Jack is doing.
