This was the first game I watched in UBS this season and, excluding playoff games, it’s the most disappointing isles game I’ve seen live.
I’m a huge Ilya fan and I got great seats behind his net, and I reckon this was his worst performance of the season yet.
But even great goaltenders have bad games, and this embarrassing loss was not at all on him alone.
Disappointing game to say the least. This coming off of hawk shut down game. Now isles have lost three out of four. And look at standings. Pens are coming on and have tied Isles with one fewer game played. tb/det. tied and one pt. behind with two fewer games played.
Horrible game from sorokin. Too many d lapses. NYI played with NO energy until they were down 5-1then a too little too late comeback falling short.
Once again i keep stressing if Isles give up more than three goals they are gonna lose. That was the case once again. Isles are too uneven or one dimensional of a team that can only win one way. They have to win by dictating the game by getting the lead and playing shut down hockey. If they get behind and have to score and come from behind by two-three more goals they have a problem. Lou needs to add that extra dimension-a top scoring line/threat-to get this team to the playoffs and beyond. At this rate Isles are going to be out of playoff spot by the new year. And lou will frown on any forward with a – on the stat sheet. And next up-the suddenly top of the standings nj devils.
