He is playing with Pinto, let’s just say pinto is not the best at getting assists, he also isn’t a 2C at all, he had a hot start sure but he should be a 3C or 4C.
partly deployment, partly luck and partly chemistry.
people point to pat kane being debrincats daddy but in reality kanes been super mid this year without debrincat
People thinking DeBrincat is going to immidiately be some kind of god is whats going to place way too much pressure on a new guy.
Give him time, let him work his magic, and in the meantime lets go for Bedard.
Three words: Dee Jay Smith.
He's not able to play the way he played in the CHL and with Chicago. DJ's system is dump and chase which means he can't get many opportunities off the rush
Summer of Pierre aged poorly. It's Matt Duchene trade over again. Unless he receives a massive over-payment or DJ Smith gets fired, he walks in July
The sens are a mess of a team that only play dump and chase and can't break out to save their life. Debrincat thrives on more of a puck possession system. The entire sens this year are a great example of how you can't just throw a bunch a good pieces together and hope they fit, they need to make sense together too.
DeBrincat is actually pretty good on the wall and in the corners. His shot is what I've been most disappointed with but his awareness and ability play in the corners and on the wall is actually pretty good. DJ often talks about how good he is at tracking on the defensive side. Kinda the opposite of what I thought the sens were getting
Kane
He’s where he is after his first 40-goal season: about 15-20 goals on 6-8% shooting.
Different coach using a better scheme to suit his talents would help; think Granato vs. Soccer Coach Krueger.
I really like DeBrincat and wanted the Kings to trade from him but I'm so glad that the Kings ended up trading for Fiala instead because Fiala can create offense for himself and his teammates on any line that he's on no matter who he plays with and DeBrincat needs to play with certain players to maximize his game to it's full potential.. DeBrincat is still a phenomenal player and I think that his goal scoring will get back on track sometimes it takes a little while to get adjusted to playing on a new team and playing with new linemates
He went from playing top line/top pp unit with Patrick Kane to set him up to playing 2nd line/second pp unit with a rookie centre
Jesus man you have to stop with how players are supposed to play an put up high point totals like stars that are 20pt totals in 20gms. And he doesn't have great passers and have a great team
He needs st Louis coaching him
Sens bench coach sucks
Projected: A.D. – S.P. – D.B. 20 goals – 30 goals – 20 goals; 46 assists – 7 assists – 46 assists; !!!!
bruh he has 20 points in 25 games and has a rookie 3rd liner as his center
Good thing they won the offseason stanley cup!!!
We should be good enough to make the playoffs, but like the leafs lose in the first round. So maybe the over all problem is everyone is in a slump.
He was only good because of Kane. Now he doesn’t have Kane anymore so he can’t produce
Hes getting great chances his shot is letting him down big time at least he's getting points though
I say trade him to mtl for anderson..
I'm open to debate lol
ADB also always has a slow start to seasons so I'm not too worried yet he needs a full season we also need to see DJ adjust his systems so that not every lines go to is dump and chase
So put him on lines with snipers and allow him to make the plays until he gets his mojo back. Everyone gets slumped.
He doesn't have Patrick Kane. Guys like McDavid, Kane, Marner, etc. are going to give better shots.
nothing is wrong with him. puck just isnt going in. he's a fantastic hockey player this season. just not many goals
