I've been happily boycotting the Leafs for months. I learned way back in '73, they were overrated. After the exodus of Leaf players to the WHA, I knew it was time to move on. Decided to only support contendors. Flyers fans for two championships. Islander fan for those four championships, the Red Wings (I live in south Detroit) for their four championships, and finally the Bolts (who were owned by the late Bill Davidson, Detroit Pistons owner). What separates me from Leaf fans? Seeing my teams hoist Stanley Cups! Matthew is an awesome talent. He will do much better elsewhere. Looking forward to the end of the season when the Leafs fail again and, when the Leafs reach out in the hopes of resigning them, he tells them he'll be opting for free agency. The Matthews deadline clock has been running all year. Toronto may be a great regular season team, but ALL hockey players dream of winning the Cup. Never gonna happen in Toronto.
