I actually really like this, however seeing black on ice REALLY messed with my mind!
As a Wings fan, I agree with the jersey. I was thinking 6.5 , but the uniform overall was an 8 for me. There's enough black used, without overdoing it.
Except it reminds me of the Canes and Hawks slightly.
I mean I think it was decent but the good thing about this is now that they've used black on a jersey they can now use it for the future and for a potential winter classic or any potential specialty jersey they have black would print money imo like the red wings logo on a black jersey just like the devils would look so good and all you have to do is change the main colour so hoping for that sometime in the future for Detroit. P.s I could be wrong but I feel like this is one of if not the only team where the helmet pants and gloves are the actual color of the jersey and match it so well but someone correct me if I'm wrong but I'd give them bonus points for that.

Neil did you know this the 1st time Detroit has ever used black in a jersey in history? Between Chicago and Detroit RR 2.0 jersey Detroit did better because Chicagos makes me think of Christmas but also the Devil's Jersey Jersey alternate.

Does anyone else notice the sewing job on the jersey looks rushed or bad for the Wings? I handle the jerseys for the college team I work for, so maybe it just sticks out for me over an average fan.
A Red and Black version of the 2009 Winter Classic jersey would've looked epic in my opinion
5.5/10. Not a fan of the wordmark and no Red Wings logo, but there was full effort and of course, this is way better than their last Reverse Retro. Detroit doesn't have a lot of jerseys in their history because like Montreal, their jerseys have been about the same no matter which company makes their jerseys.
I love how the names and numbers fit in the black stripes or in the back numbers case, starts at the bottom of the top stripe and ends at the top of the bottom stripe. I also love the captain and alternate patches. It is unique that the letter is in a diamond. I will make sure to get mine with Larkin's name and number, but I will wait for a price drop as I think they won't sell that well.
The Red Wings Reverse Retro 2.0 jersey is one of the worst one of the 2.0 line but I will say when I saw it in full uniform in photos it doesn't look that bad but I will pick the RR 2.0 jersey over the 1.0 RR the RR 1.0 jersey was basically a practice jersey but looks kinda better with a name and number
At least this Reverse Retro Detroit jersey is much better than the one they came out with last year. That one was terrible.
Really appreciated the artistic take on the room in relation to the jersey. That was interesting. As for the jersey, it has grown on me and I quite like it now, but I personally think it doesn't look too good on the ice (on tv), the black and red clash and it looks quite dull as a result imo. Anyway, it looks great in pictures in uniform and the white lettering pops quite nicely.

Don't know why they removed the black outline from the captains' diamond. Looked better that way.

This is, in a way, what I wanted them to do the first time around. I do like this jersey and the whole uniform is better. They are kind of limited in what they can do. They haven't changed much about their jerseys since the 1930s and a lot of what they did before that has been rehashed in a specialty jersey. They had to introduce black to this jersey to help distinguish it from past jerseys because they have only ever had a primary (red) and secondary (white) colour, so taking a tertiary colour and making it the primary jersey colour like a lot of teams do with their alternates was off the table. The only other thing I can think of them doing without going completely off-brand would be to substitute the white with an off-white.
The thing I don’t understand is why the stripes are black. The jersey this is based off of was white with red stripes so why not do red with white stripes? Why black when that wasn’t the color on the original jersey. If the stripes were white with red fonts in them this would be a 10/10

I wasn't a fan of the jersey when it was first revealed.
But I like the uniform as a whole. I also like the close up shots of the jersey. The stripes originally looked printed on. But knowing that it is stitched makes it look better than I first thought.
I like the Chicago uniform better with the black helmets and pants.

Chicago never had a jersey like that besides their striping. Detroit's was a throwback to the 75th anniversary jewelry from 1991 which in itself was a throwback to the original detroit cougars in 26. I wish people would realize this and stop saying detroit copied Chicago.
I'd appreciate it more if the colours were reversed, and black had been subbed out for Steel Grey. As it is, it's too similar to Chicago's.

This I the jersey I really wanted from the Wings, but I think the black doesn’t look as good as it would have with just red and white. I also wish they would’ve done a little bit of black on the collar just to break up all the red and make it look not as empty

Red Wings reverse retro I think it's extremely lazy low effort & just looks rubbish ( garbage ) in the extreme.
The only place this Red Wings reverse retro is fit for is the bin ( garbage).

I actually really like it 8 out of 10 especially after seeing it in person on fans at the recent game I went to. I may be a little biased since they are my favorite team
I’m very disappointed with this uniform. It’s slightly embarrassing to the NHL brand.
Hopefully this abomination will be quickly forgotten.
