Be that as it may, I MUST say…
First….I believe…Goody was GOD tonight! Maybe even the IMPETUS! The end of the 2nd we were in a spin/getting PUSHED and no denying Goody stepped up! That penalty with the goal was BEYOND embellishment! Still, whether he was fighting with grit against a bigger opp, setting up an assist (3rd goal) or drawing penalties, the boy was out there and letting it be KNOWN!
Second… Ya SEE?!?!
Ya see what happens Gallant?! When you ACTUALLY USE the kids up there like you promised you would after our playoff run last season, yet haven't done so until now?
THIS game, for the most part, ENCAPSULATED EVERYTHING that's been missing!
I mean, do you TRULY remember….?
Remember when the Rangers played with actual structure?!
Remember when the Rangers DOMINATED 3rd periods?!
Remember when the Rangers were constantly moving, looking for open ice/circulating as they got pucks deep?!
Remember when the Rangers played with pep in their step/speed and were quick on the triggers/shot pucks?!
Remember when the Rangers CARED about/had some form of a defensive structure/Good penalty kill?! Which begs, remember when we were concerned to protect our goalie?! (Vegas couldn't score 5 on 5/ had less than handful of shots in the 3rd!)
Remember when the Rangers had more than two or three guys contributing to offense/scoring, let alone were able to score at all?!
Remember when Mika's one-timer was deadly?!
Remember when BS penalties did really effect the team cause they were BETTER than that?!
Remember when the Rangers were keyed in and playing as an actual UNIT with urgency & grit/could match the same from the opposition?!
In other words…Remember when the Rangers had "NO QUIT?!" (didn't mean that to rhyme)
Well…THIS was the game that brought ALL of these things back!
THIS was the game that reminded EVERYONE what last season was all about and MORE what this team is ACTUALLY capable of THIS season!
C'mon boys…YOU can do this…WE can do this!!
