I thought it was unfortunate that Tage's ice time was limited as the third period progressed, never got an opportunity for 6, a great night in any event!
It's worth noting that the Sabres are scoring on pace with the 1993 Sabres! Tuch, Skinner, and Thompson are creating a LaFontaine Mogilny vibe! Of course we live in a different era now but still it's just incredible. No matter how this season plays out I have full faith in Granato and Adams to continue building this team.
Thompson already scored more goals than Eichel last year. Thompson is starting to improve on defense too and creating more assists, so I think it's fairly accurate to claim that he is better than Eichel. His attitude, hustle, backchecking, and mindset definitely are better. Thank God we aren't subjected to the eye rolls, slow back checks, and slow skating to the bench during changes that Eichel subjected us to.
Idk eichel never played this well for us. So I'd say he's better and he's only what 24?
I absolutely love the conference he's gained in himself. As it shows night in & night out. I've always just wished the Sabres had a player who wasn't afraid to try flashy moves & take a shot from anywhere with the confidence it can go in. He has established himself as That Guy!!! Tage is here!!!
You are incorrect on his first 6 point night, it was against the Red Wings in the 8-3 beating on Halloween, not the Pens
Does Tage have an ego? He just seems like a guy who loves to play and wants his teams to be successful!

He had already slid down St. Louis’ prospect rankings when we got him, and he wasn’t an Adams pickup, so could have been exposed to the expansion draft. Now, the word was the Pegulas wanted desperately to come out looking ok from the O’Reilly trade. But I would like to know if anybody knew this was coming. Granato sounded like he saw it coming, but Idk if he necessarily advocated hard for him to be kept around. He just stuck around like Risto and Kalinin (not as long of course). But if you can credit anyone as a genius behind his ascension, it’s Granato.
