This is sad, on so many levels.
The way Mathews has been contributing defensively, he is a monster. It won't be long before he starts connecting with his shot and when he gets there mano man it will be something to see. It will be Mark Messier ish. Power Grace and a Defensive Beast.

Marner has been getting better and better defensively they all deserve credit for thinking Defense first and making the chances count and that part will get better when the recognition of chances starts to become instinctive. The coach needs some credit for tightening the play. I used to say you have the talent to score, I'm not going to harp on it but you need to learn the Defensive game.
The Leafs still won’t the Stanley Cup this year. The tradition continues.
Matt has been a great sight to see. But if he were to go down IIya Samsonov, is there chomping on the bit to give a showing of what he has, it could not be better. A guy with Sam's pedigree is going to be there when you need him. The one year contract is his ticket to shine.
