Idk but that looks kind of awesome
That’s super interesting. I don’t know anything about the sweater, but it seems very odd that only one set of stitching would discolor. I’ll be watching this post – hopefully someone more knowledgeable than I am can help.
Does seem odd. Could be that particular thread has a different material or treatment than the rest. I have a pair of pants that were bleached and all of the thread stayed brown except for the pockets because one thread is nylon and the other is cotton.
CALLING ALL SCIENTISTS
This has not happened to me, but synthetic material is a lot more resistant to bleach staining than cotton or other fibers. My assumption would be that the crest and other unbleached elements are made of synthetic fabric and are sewn onto the jersey kind of like a patch. The thread used to sew around the border of the maple leaf and the wrist tag would most likely be a natural fiber (most common type of thread) which would make it more susceptible to bleaching than the material of the rest of the jersey, turning it from a blue color (like in the original jersey) to a pink color. The white would also be embroidered on, but because it is white you would see no change after bleaching. That would be my best guess.
