What’s more disappointing? Keeping him at $3M? Or getting less value back? Currently he can’t be used on PP 1 or 2. Can’t be used on PK 1, 2 or 3. Can’t be used on 4 on 4 1, 2 or 3. Or 3 on 3. And he’s not ever going to be the extra player either. Literally only used on one shift of 5 on 5 and is not excelling. Many players doubling and tripling up their roles rn. Just cut the loss and let him get a fresh start. Him and his agent haven’t been making decisions that favour the Oilers either. If he wants out just let him go. Find the best trade and be done with it. Can’t win them all.
PJ is defeated, so I think he needs a fresh start. All players are human beings and ultimately when their mental game is stuck then a fresh start will be the way to go.
Oddly I think Arizona would actually be a good place for him. They are always trying to reach the cap floor. At $2mil if PJ signs long term at that rate then he'll be welcome there for years as a 2nd or 3rd line player. At the right price PJ is a great player that creates lots of opportunity for others.
I'd like to get some grit and toughness back in a Jesse trade. We've got plenty of offence; especially when Kane comes back, but too often, we're too easy to play against. We need a guy (or two) that makes life difficult (and painful) for the opposition.
The Value for Puljujarvi won't be good but u don't have a choice in keeping him around EDM anymore the fact he can only hit other players is the one thing he is good at but not as good if he can't score more goals this year so that proves he can't be in the lineup top 6 plays, Cap space would be a reward we get a sign of relief to bring up players from condors but they could use some players like Domi or Kapanen to save up in deadline for March or January. I do believe that Evander Kane will be coming back in January if he continues to improve more light practices.
If Edmonton can make trades with Calgary can't see why they couldn't with Vancouver. I can see Vancouver being opposed to a deal if it's Horvat or Besser but not schenn. Detroit Columbus Chicago and Philadelphia would probably be the 4 spots Holland would have the easiest time trading pullijarvi

He has never showed any promise and should have spent three years in the AHL.
