The Leafs' big 4 play much a better two-way game. That's why they are better right now.
One of the biggest differences when it comes to fan rivalry between Oilers and Flames fans vs Leafs and Oilers fans, is respect. Oilers and Flames fans hate each others teams, but we have a begrudging respect for the fan bases. Many of us have close friends or family that cheer for the "enemy". The same can't be said to as great of an extent for the Leafs. Add in the ridiculous overrepresentation Toronto has in Canadian sports media, and I think you could probably conclude that the Leafs are the most hated team in Canada (by everyone else but Leafs fans).
Any rivalry in hockey is a good rivalry, so I say bring it on.

More to hockey than offence
Mcdavid and drai are the only thing keeping the oilers afloat most nights so I wouldn’t be gloating to much about the oilers point production from it’s so called top 4. Also take a look at there plus minus… they know how to score sure but the oilers top 4 defensively are horrendous. If we go back to the canadian division the leafs owned the oilers. I like both teams and the oilers are a good team but there is no chance the oilers have nearly the same amount of depth as the leafs. Clearly the leafs have the structure the oilers want with them trying to sign the half the leafs team from the last 5 years 😂

As a Leaf fan I can tell you that the Toronto media is the worst. The majority of our fans despise our media, and we don't fall for this stuff. It's click bait, and they know anything "Leafs" will generate a lot of clicks, which as you can see mission accomplished. Even trade rumours that make no sense for the Leafs to be in on, pundits will links us because it generates more attention. The Leafs team is more than just 4 players right now, which is why they are winning. They story has been elite goaltending and Marners streak. Matthews had a slow start to the year, and has picked things up as of late. JT had a hot start and has slowed down. Nylander has been hot all year, and Marner since Nov has been on fire. No need to pump tire, when we need to get through the likes of BOS and TB again who will both be tough to beat.
Hyman has one starfish looking season and he’s considered in a top four position compared to Mathews, marner, nylander and Tavares. Oh cmon 😭😭😭

The Oilers do have the better top 4 but in the old days the Oilers knew Fuhr was going to let in 5 every game but they didn't care because they were guaranteed to score 6. Today the Oilers aren't consistent enough to have goalies that are going to let in 5.
Are Draisaitl and McDavid better because they pad their numbers getting 4 and 5 points against Montreal, 3 and 4 points against Ariz but can't do squat against a middle team like Washington. I'll take the 2 points from Matthews and one from Marner with the win than the bevy of points Draisaitl and McDavid gets against teams they have no problem beating.
