@Penguins de Pittsburgh

  1. Anyone arguing higher than 5th…who among Gretzky, Mario, Howe, or Orr does he replace?

  2. Sid is a fantastic player for certain. But in my opinion Believe, Rocket Richard and even Bobby Hull were better!

  3. Crosby has missed huge chunks of his prime career from concussions and the lockout so counting points is hard. He’s number 7 all time in PPG and he played the majority of his career without any elite talent on his wing. McDavid plays with Draisaitl fairly often and they dominate. Separate them and I’d bet McDavid look a lot more human*

*don’t get me wrong. Crosby and McDavid are both inhuman freaks, one just has a HoF winger rn. I’d bet their career stats are more similar if McDavid was without Draisaitl

  4. He’s easily a top 5 player of all time. He’s still killing it at age 35 that’s insane

  5. Definitely in the top 5, I say 4. Howe was great for a very long time but Crosby has been even better for a very long time as well.

It'd take a lot to put anyone past Gretzky, Orr and Mario. Maybe McDavid will earn it when he hangs up the skates.

  6. What is this guy on, you're telling me Crosby is better than Jagr???

  7. I think right now he's #5 but maybe a hot take is that in 15 years, we'll be talking about how Sid is #6, surpassed by a certain current player.

I'm a Penguins fan but what Connor is doing right now is something I have never seen before and winning a cup is just a matter of time for him. I have no doubt (if he stays healthy) that he will be looked at as better than Sid when it's all said and done.

  8. No Disrespect to Crosby but its not hard to think of 10 players that should be above him. Great player, but there have been Greater players that came before him. He is ranked high currently because of recency bias and he was the poster child for the league when the last wave of stars were retiring.

  9. NO DISRESPECT SIDNEY CROSBY IS ALL BY HIMSELF WENT COMES TO THIS GENERATIONS OF HOCKEY IT CHANGE SO MUCH LET BE REAL HERE

  10. He will always remembered as one of the greatest of all time. No latter where he sits on the scale. His defence abilities alone separates him from all other forwards. He's a complete utility player. Sometime goalie. Lol

  11. Crosby of what he has achieved and still achieving in his career he is one of all time greats in hockey and in top 4

  12. It may sound crazy, but he's actually underrated. He got a lot of press early in his career, not so much in the last half. Yet he low key just gets shit accomplished. There's a continual stream of nobody players on his lines who he manages to still produce with. Try putting those guys on Ovechkin's line, and he'd drop to 65 points per season. Crosby could very well become the only player to have 20 consecutive point-per-game seasons (he's almost certainly going to get number 18 this season).

  13. Crosby in his prime put up 120 points in a league that had far less goals per game and he never even had elite wingers on his line. The NHL exploded with goals last season and McDavid put up 123 which is amazing but consider the goals scored across the leagues at the time. Plus Crosby is way more than just an offensive player he developed his two way game to a super elite level. McDavid needs to do the same

  14. Gordie Howe is a bit overrated IMO. His longevity is why his numbers are high. Like Messier. I have Sid above him.

  15. It’s crazy his accomplishments, but he also passes the eye test. He has some of the highest IQ of any player i watched. He is as strong on the puck as anyone who has ever played and players who play on his line are immediately elevated.
