This is usually how the oilers play against the wild. They just couldn’t get much going. At least we won 1 of the games against them and happy we are done with them
Skinner is the only reason the oilers were in it. Woodcroft needs to demand better from his players, their lack of effort is pathetic. 2 day break vs a team who had 1 day of rest.
This Oiler team is the laziest fucking team in the NHL! The only players who actually gave a sh*t was Skinner and Hyman! Holland needs to make a sacrifice and trade a Defenseman and Puljujarvi and trade up for some players that actually wanna create a rush! IMO trade off Nurse and JP just to shake up the team and get some life out of them. They seem to be half asleep especially after watching them play on Friday against the exact same team! My thoughts? Trade off nurse with 50% retention and JP at full value for Klingberg or Erikson and some decent forward that has some heart and talent to place in the 3-4 line. And then make the announcement that the next player who wants to sleep on their shift will be the next out the door! I'm tired of these stupid Eeyore type attitudes on the ice! This game was so boring and lacked any substance that the Coyotes could have beat them tonight!
The oil should have acknowledged Mini was employing trap type game. Was bore fest. More dump and chase was needed. D was bad at clears. We need that puck mover D man or men. Congrats on 4k Bud.

This team is INCONSISTENT. This has not changed. “Contenders” don’t sleep through entire periods of games and don’t pick and choose which games they’ll go to the net in (exception = Hyman). And they don’t have lousy PKs. … Skinner has made this team seem better than it is.

Skinner showed up. Few others did. A lot of poor zebra calls . Fluery needs a call from the league. JP was timid and took away from his line. Congrats on your 4000 subs. Hopefully happier ones in the future.
Honestly, I think at this point the Oilers defense needs a complete rework. All new defenseman because the current ones just aren't cutting it. Trading Puljujarvi for Chychrun or any other available defenseman would be a good start.
The Oilers looked lethargic except for Hyman and Skinner. This is even though it was the Wild who were the ones just coming back from a long road trip. Even the PP was weak going only 1 for 5.
McDavid made 2 huge mistakes on the GWG by Freddy Gaudreau, and made a weak pass to Nurse on the Oilers 3 on 1 when Draisaitl would have been the better choice. Draisaitl looks like his ankle is still bothering him, as his skating is still slower than before the LA series.
Still not too worried, but the team needs to start playing more consistently and to rack up some wins and standing points.
Look how many times do we watch the Oilers lose, because of the defense system fail and the players are not in place to stop the goal or not really trying??? New defense system needed or year after year failure 💯👎🏾. This is my opinion about the Oilers defense system.💯👍🏾🇨🇦

Another great performance by Skinner and another disappointing game by the Oilers.
It wasn't a blow out. Oilers shot themselves in the foot in the remaining minute by not putting pucks at the net.
Not every game will be pretty, but a ugly win beats a near loss.
