I want our October defensive structure back, please
First, that was a heck of a hockey game.
But the Jets were way to sloppy and costly mistakes and penalties cost them the game
Edits:
– Ehlers will be skating very very soon, he tells Sara on the Jets postgame
– PLD is « really sick » which is why he sat for periods of time in the 3rd, Bowness explicitly states he was not benched. Multiple players are also sick « lots of IVs in there »
What a disappointing end to the game. Can’t take those penalties, and the good PK disappeared when it needed to be good.
At least we got a hat trick out of it.

I’m sorry, I know it wasn’t the only issue but Helle was just brutal tonight. I know the defense gave up too much but 3 or 4 of those should have been saved no questions asked, they were only « dangerous » because they were let in. Five goals should be enough to win a hockey game.
And Dallas won their game.
It bothers me that Vegas did the same stretch pass play over and over and over again but the Jets D never adjusted for it. They just let it happen all night long and lost the game because of it.

The bad news is the Jets can’t play against teams that use a bunch of traffic to swarm the defense. The good news is that it’s only December and there is plenty of time to make adjustments. HATTY FOR SCHEIF!!

Can’t take stupid penalties and expect to not get punished. Very winnable game we let slip away. And they didn’t have Eichel or Theodore. Playing against a one seed, it needs to be better.
Rough late game penalties fucked us. This will be a hell of a playoff series.
It’s so much worse when this happens against Vegas. Idk if I could handle another playoff series against them

We should not be losing to teams with their top players injured. We’re way too average without a dialed in Hellebuyck. 2 games we should’ve won.

Bad penalties. Bad Defensive turnovers. Bad Goaltending. I still wanna know why PLD was seemingly benched in the 3rd for no reason at all, while Samberg & Schmiddy kept giving away goals. Wacky night, need a bounce back next game before we get into a rut
Helly can have stinkers but he has been solid us almost everyday. I’m sure Helle would be hella pumped the next game he plays
that stupid penalty that tied the game is so infuriating
Good game to watch, very exciting but yeah way to many mistakes from the D and Helle which I hate to say was pretty terrible out there.
To top things off this was an injured Vegas team running their backup, imagine this was Vegas full strength, yikes.

Even with helly’s bad game we would’ve won if not for the two terrible penalties. Man helly bails us out night in and night out and we couldn’t bail him out one game 😔
That was a tough 3rd to watch Helly let in a couple softies but it was a team loss tonight. That was our chance to beat Vegas too with all their injuries. What a crazy game
Atrocious defense. Just because Helly didn’t stand on his head doesn’t mean it’s his fault.
-Goal #2 nobody covered Mark fucking Stone in the slot.
-Goal #3 Schmidt throws a silver platter turnover, Helly shuts down the breakaway but neither Schmidt nor Samberg get the trailer.
-Goal #4 Stupid penalty by Wheeler. Helly should have had it but again they shouldn’t have given them a free powerplay
-Goal #5 stupid penalty by Pionk. Demelo gets caught chasing the puck and leaves Marchessault open for a one timer
So where is Helly to blame here? He should have had the 1st and the 4th but the 4th was a dumb penalty in the first place. BuT tHe ReBoUnDs, cover your man and rebounds don’t matter. Don’t take stupid penalties and those shots don’t happen.
It’s very obvious that if only Kuhlman was already with the team and played tonight, we would have won

I knew as soon as the were pumping up that the Jets haven’t lost 2 in a row for awhile that they were gonna lose. The last two opponents were missing like half of their regular offensive players and we somehow manage to lose both games.
