Holy crap I thought the Canucks offered 6 in the summer and Horvat wanted more… but 5.125? Yeah, I get it.
I think the Canucks only upped the offer bc they knew Bo was not gonna re-sign and him rejecting a better deal now makes him look greedy. I don’t think they were ever gonna get something done if they started at 5.125.
Trade him we don't want nobody that does not want to be here we want a real Captain a real Captain doesn't jump ship as great of a player he might be he's a liar he never really wanted to be here he's out to look for him self like everybody else on this freaking team he's not worth a million dollars
The scariest thing is that even if they get good value for Bo in a trade (which looks less likely by the day), ownership is still gonna push retooling on the fly in the slim hopes of playoff revenue… and around and around we go.
An eccentric billionaire needs to make Aquaman an offer he can’t refuse. Maybe then we’ll get a proper rebuild. Does anyone know any billionaires? 😂
Horvat is having an incredible and deserves to make bank. He’s also a very good leader.
Nothing new here. We knew he was leaving
The disrespect on nugent hoptkins in this video, god damn.
no chance Edmonton moves Hopkins for another center. He’s playing great this year too. He’s a Swiss Army knife and Literally can do it all well. The pk, pp, center, wing doesn’t matter.
Sit him out the rest of his contract , ban him from the locker room , ban him from the training room , he's a little snot who only decided to play good because the end of his contract is close . Look at his stats , he is no better than a middle of the road player why are they paying him so much ? The little twit should get a pay cut not a raise . Who in hell would pay eight million a year for that malcontent .
5.125 is an insult, they should have offered 7×7 and let Miller walk.
Bye bye Bo
Nugent Hopkins played in Red Deer in junior I don't can't see him wearing another jersey it be stupid asf
Omg , , , some say , "the hardest job in professional sports is being a Vancouver Canucks fan" Vancouver continues to feed this saying .. JT before Bo ?? Why ?? I have followed this team since the beginning . Guys Please I wont live forever … Get your sh*t together
Horvat ain't that good idk who would want him to have to cough up a price that the Canucks would consider respectful
Us Canucks fans know very well that things can always get worse.
rope hintz got 8.5, bo will get 9+
The funniest thing you said dude is you live in a capitalist society in Canada .
LMAO right now . Super entertaining dude . Thanks for the laughter .
It's tough to measure Nuge's production because it's so often attached to the work of higher calibre players (Hall, Eberle, McDavid, Draisaitl). Bo hasn't had quite the same luxury. $5.125M would've been a tough sell even if they hadn't signed Miller for $8M. This is all so depressing.
I think the Canucks current situation is tough and full of distractions and turmoil. But if they have a better second half and make the playoffs Bo's comments might get lighter. It doesn't change the fact that he will field offers and consider the best ones that fit his needs and long term future. The tone of his comments reflect the current situation. If he wanted his comments to be really unfiltered he would have released them on twitter, or a podcast or somewhere the team doesn't control the comments. I believe he really wants to focus on having a good season and helping his teammates win as many games as possible. But I also think unless management can lighten their roster cap load, he will be gone.
I’d take nuge over horvat every day. Horvat is good on a trash team, nuge is good on a great team
The Canucks want to pay Bo based on his performance over the entirety of his current contract and Bo wants to get paid based on his current year. There will be teams out there which will pay Bo close to the 9 million range during free agency.
The funny thing is that the rebuild should've started the minute Bo was drafted, it will be his departure from the team which will likely trigger a proper full rebuild.
Wow! How is it that the Canucks management changed but it’s still the same management style that disrespects their captain who is a very consistent and hardworking guy. The entire league’s players can see that Vancouver, for a variety of reasons is a poorly run gong show of a hockey team that they must avoid at all cost.
What about the message this sends to other Canuck players. Clearly there’s been something very rotten in Vancouver for quite a while. The common denominator always comes back to the horrible ownership who needs to wake up and understand that their not running an Amazon warehouse but a NHL hockey team. New Canucks ownership cannot come soon enough!
His comment sounds pretty fair. People reading into it way too much
Told yall when this Bo Horvat thing first came up after the Milsy signing that they needed to pay him what he was worth and that was a 7×7 contract as that is what he is worth. The problem was he was only getting enough points to get payed what he was already making and perhaps a little less. The lack of production thus far was due to the fact that he has never played with first line wingers and now that he plays with Milsy we can see he is really a much better player than his numbers suggested, which i knew would happen the team has a lot more depth in the forward position. When the rumors first started the agent was talking 7 million but that was about 2 million less than his numbers suggested he should make. There is a lot more to hockey than just getting points, an Bo is the poster boy for that phenomena. Once he started playing with Milsy, who is a brilliant passer, he would really put up the points and he did. That is why i predicted that he would be traded at the trade deadline, and so would Kuzy. The problem with Kuzy is he has much less a track record and is likely to get 8 million in points but will the Canucks give him that? No and Hell no, and in fact they probably don't even know what a fair number is until the season is up so it is possible that the team loses him for nothing so he is going to get traded at the deadline as well. The good news is all the "Bob the Rebuilders" will be happy as they will be getting more cap space, draft picks and, and prospects, but they won't be as good as they are right now for a few years. By then Myers will be gone and the team will look quite a bit different. For me i just don't see how they are going to be any better for several years from all this over paying players left right and center. At least Boeser can take a breather for a short spell while Bo takes the spotlight. Like i warned Yall, enjoy this team while you can cuz you probably won't recognize it in a year or two. Bo is likely to get a 8 million dollar contract next year and probably not much more if he goes for 7-8 years term. By then the sad reality of a yet again flat salary cap will be know to all the managers who are all hoping against hope that the cap inflates away their pie in the sky contract giveaways. At some point they will figure it out.
I do not remember the exact timing of the Boeser and the Miller signing, but for sure they happened before the start of this season. Before the season, Horvat and his camp would be crazy to think they can get $8 mil a year. However, if Boeser and Miller are getting what they are getting, and the Canucks brass turned around and offered him Nugent-Hopkins money, I would be mighty upset and would probably demanded a trade straight-up! Contract negotiations are meant to be ugly, but when you just go and disrespect the other party, that is something else. It is not just the Nugent-Hopkins comparison, but the fact that they are paying Boeser and Miller what they were paying, and then offering Nugent-Hopkins money to Horvat that probably completely stalled negotiations.
Canucks fans will have to get together and get a agenda 2032 going on in hopes of one day turning things around to respectability .
